Unfortunately I couldn't get away from work at 11am, but I was home by 11:10 a.m. and my husband was working on MSG1. We got shut out. He tried for MSGII first and got tickets, but we got stuck with Sec. 314. I find it hard, very hard, to believe that these are the next best thing to the original 10c seats. From the seating chart they appear to be side stage as high as you can get. I can't imagine what would be worse. I am not blaming anyone because I have no way to know who to blame. My hunch is to blame Ticketmaster.
I am going to try for MSGI on Friday. If they are no better than the ones I got today I am going to forget the trip to New York. The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0 -

Ten Club"
It is. I took my section 314 under the assumption I could do no better on Friday. And if there are going to be 10c tickets in section 300... ouch. Hasn't it worked most of the time that 10c tickets are better than regular sales ones?
you assumed that the 10C got ALL the best tix, perhaps a little wishful thinking on your part?
I actually think they made an effort to have the next best tix available. People got loge seats and I have NEVER seen them available for any other MSG pre-sale.
Take your tickets, try on Friday, always try.
And keep checking. Those ten rows in 120 discussed above? If they are not distributed by TM, they will be released in the days prior to the show.
heard about the guy that walked up to the box office the day of the show and got front row?
thats how he got em, TM seats held, but not distributed are released in the 72 hours before the show.0 -

I actually liked it - it's a different perspective seeing them from behind, but you are so close to the stage. Plus, it had the best sound of any concert I've seen at Verizon. The acoustics in that place are horrible - I've always assumed that somehow the dynamics of the sound were altered sitting behind the stage and it was great, that night at least.Boston Garden 5/25/06

Why would people try for tickets in this presale when they already got tickets through the first presale. Oh I'll just throw these back? What fucking douce bags! I got shut out both nights. I never understand people's logic or inept thinking.0

I don't know man... got to go have my taxes done on Friday, and truthfully... too much workbut thanks for the advice
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0 -

Shakes head...
yeah, wtf? And then come in here with, "I got tickets sitting on a stool behind Jeff, but since I already had 10C, I threw them back."
These people should be punched in the spleen.
I already have my tickets to both nights, and I was kind enough to stay the fuck off of ticketmaster.com this morning.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

I am in the same section as you for night 2, but night one I have ten club seatsOut of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!0 -
Did people really think that the Bastard would just give the fan club ALL the best seats, and they wouldnt possibly be able to do better Friday? Really? Kind of silly if you think about it.
And anyone who can't at least get in the door after Fridays onsale needs a faster internet connection.Boston Garden 5/25/06

I don't think that really has anything to do with it. I have super fast internet connection... it's just down to blind luck...Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0

The whole ticket system really is a mess. I'd like to think that 10c would have not deliberately stitched up the fan club members, and blame it more on TM. I too have been watching the rip-off site that is 'stubhub' and have seen tickets there for a couple of weeks now (IIRC, before the 1st 10c pre-sale). Where do people get these tickets??
I really wish someone would come up with a way of stopping the outrageous profiteering at the expense of genuine fans..or 'scalping', as you guys call it - known as 'touting' on this side of the water!
I'm still optimisitic (fool that I am) of getting tickets tomorrow. Me and my missus will be flying over from the UK and will get in one way or another. Been a fan since '92 and have never had a chance to seem them live. That MUST change this year!
Good luck to everyone tomorrow...and if you have spares, do the decent thing and share them at face value with real fans (and hey, if that's me...I'd graciously accept!)
Rob
Good to see such devoted fans.
I don't know why someone doesn't sue TM (also known as 'the bastard') over making tickets available to scalpers *stubhub BEFORE they go on sale.
It would make a pretty good case.
I tell you more: I had to go to a show once and I had to buy from such online website (shame on me). THEY 'PRINTED' THE TICKETS THEMSELVES and sent them to me by e-mail. In other words: the ticks were on sale on the website for days but the e-mail they sent me shows that the printout from tM.com was issued the day I bought them.
Basically they are all in on it.
They have monopoly and they sell to whoever they want, no one checks how or at what price. Check out what they are doing with George Michael tix and you will see.0 -
Was that a ticket fast ticket, if so, you can print that at any time, it does not mean that they bought them that day.
there are brokers that have terminals
but there a LOT more brokers that get tix through insiders
I know this for a fact.
TM is starting to go after them. But its not easy since the "funnelers" often have some connection with TM that is beneficial to TM.
Why?
So they can raise the TM prices and keep all that profit for themselves.
Brokers are not ticketmaster's friends they are the competition. Think about it.
The whole TM exchange and TM auctions were designed to steal the profits being made on the auction sites. If individuals are buying them for $250, perhaps we are not charging enough.
Thats the current thinking at TM
by the way rubi, I dont have a beef with you and see this as a healthy exchange of thoughts on the whole process0 -
whats the seating capacity at MSG for a concert?See this needle...a see my hand...
Drop drop dropping it down...oh so gently...
Well here it comes...I touch the plane...

Too much bitching. There are only so many tickets to go around. Just be happy that you have the security of already knowing you're going. I still gotta try for Friday.I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

no worries. healthy exchange of thoughts.
If TM cannot be sued, I am sure the scalpers could be sued.
And if TM is thinking "wow we could've sold those tickets for more" that is also the wrong train of thought, unless you only want rich people at a PJ concert...
Who is to decide what a fair price for a ticket is? Only the band can push TM to lower a price, if anything.
If the band pushes for a lower price (PJ and REM could sell at much more) suddenly scalpers become PJ and REM fan club members, and scalpers know that the product is hot so they try to get more tickets and sell higher.
Moreover Ticketexchange is born (who is selling the tickets? are we sure it's not TM that is selling the tickets on TicketExchange themselves?), Auction for tickets on TM are not unusual, 'hot seat packages' (Buy a George MIchael pin for $ 600 and I will get you a seat in the 100s) are semi legal ways for TM to sell at higher prices.
Sorry, I am not saying anything new.... all been said before....
but this industry is all messed up.
From 2003 shows, you would think that MSG can accomodate all TenClub members, and if you are lucky you would have a chance to get your face even in the dvd!
(Just bragging cuz I am there)

Sounds like no one's really happy with this. Those that got tickets are convinced they could get better on Friday, then theres people in the 10C like me who STILL don't have tickets after 2 pre sales.

But then TicketBastard wouldn't have gotten today's cut.
Can't have that, now can we?
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...0
