Got my tickets. Absolutely thrilled about the show but in desperate need of a nap.
Ukranian it is.
Lots of people. Can't imagine what it would feel like to wait for so long and then be turned away.

What an amazing show. Set wasn't nearly as long as a Pearl Jam show (1 hr 25 mins approx), but it was INSANE. Such a talented band.
I woke up at 5:30am and drove to Fingerprints in Long Beach from San Diego. By the time I finally reached the line (I drove to their old location first, since the Google Maps data was outdated), there were already a good amount of people waiting. After the first 40 minutes, the owner bought donuts for everybody to enjoy --- it was a very nice gesture. Apparently, the "clues" that were Tweeted were not supposed to go out until morning, which made things pretty tough on people.
An hour or so later, the owner told me that I was about #90 in line, and that there were 180 tickets TOTAL allotted for the store. If everybody took 2, I had to bank on nobody cutting in line or I would not have received a ticket. I asked him if he could wristband everybody waiting. By the time that he was able to, I was closer to #100 in line, and people in the front were making deals on Craigslist to add people to their lists. Pretty crappy thing to do. But everything worked out well, as I was the 2nd to last person in line to receive a ticket!
I showed up at the Ukrainian Culture and Arts Center early to look around. They didn't let anybody line up early, and the whole fiasco reminded me in ways of the industry show Pearl Jam did in 2006 at the Henry Fonda Theater (which I was also fortunate enough to attend). In fact, they wound up letting ticketless people in last minute at the Arcade Fire show also.
Upon entering, people treated to complimentary soda and cotton candy (no alcohol in the building, as it was all ages and there were no cash registers anywhere). The crowd was amazing, and everybody seemed very grateful to be there. I accidentally bumped into somebody in the crowd, looked up, and it was Moby! The lead singer from Mumford & Sons was there as well.
The setlist was pretty amazing:
Month of May
Rebellion (Lies)
Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
No Cars Go
Haiti
City With No Children
Intervention
Suburban War
Wake Up
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
We Used to Wait
ENCORE
Ready to Start
Keep the Car Running
Sprawls II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
The energy never died, and at the end, Win requested that all the lights in the building be turned off completely. They ended the show in the dark, with the crowd whipped into a frenzy. One of the most amazing nights of music I've ever witnessed.

Excellent recap, man. Thanks for sharing. And congrats on getting in. Would've been sweating bullets, too, being at #90. Wanted to go by Fingerprints, too, but woulda been way later than you got there. Feels sorta good to know I woulda been assed out if I did. Been pissing away my $$ at Fingerprints for 10+ years. Amazing store & Rand is the name of the guy who owns it. Seems the genuine article, that guy, so I'm happy that whatever nest-egg I might've had got 'invested' in his awesome store instead.
A friend of mine got an 'insider' ticket (read: works in Hollywood, so he didn't have to wait in any lines) and sent a vid from the show last night. Grainy & blocky, but looked intense. Did you keep the setlist, or find it online today? Looks like a doozy.
Sorry guys, a little late to the party as lack of sleep over the past two nights has wiped me out. As far as what time I got there, all that I'll say is that I was wristband #16 and thank goodness for a 9-80 work schedule. Incredibly worth it.

PaddyPower rocked to the core, if true.
Fuck yeah!, I played a 2 game parlay......I took Ukranian Culture Center (+700), and the over (-110) on 8:30pm!
Ladbrokes and William Hill were both offering +800, but hey, I will take my win!
Kaching!

well done!
What time did you get in line?
When did it sell out?
Edit: JOEJOEJOE/killmoretrout similarity scores = rising...
yep, but I am in favor of killing less trout, or would that be fewer trout?
Wow, the fish killer likes sci-fi movies!

These past two "secret" shows that I've been to have inspired me to get back in the habit of writing more, so I posted some thoughts and pictures here:

Really rough drafts as there's already stuff I want to edit and add.
It's time for a nap though.

Great post, dude. Thx for sharing. And excellent pictures, too. Looks like you had a great vantage point of the Grammy™ Winning Arcade Fire.
Glad you enjoyed the show!
