I'm needing some new Pearl Jam material to read, I just re-read 5 against 1 for like the third time and I realized that I hadn't even tried to read any other books on the band because everyone I ever speak to on the subject have told me that 5 against 1 was the only one to read.

So I ask you....are there any other books out there that are worth picking up? And I am not so much into books only on Eddie as I am not into the whole "Eddie worship" that some fans seem to be in, I want to know about the band as a whole, as I love each member of the band for what they bring and not just the lead singer.*

*Sorry if that sounded preachy or putting some fans down, it wasn't meant to, it was meant to simply state that I didn't want any recommendations on books on just Eddie.

to me all the books out there are on the whole rubbish, all opinions really and perceptions and judgements based on whats been reported or said and then intepreted to give a story....

Wait for the official autobio if that is ever written, only way of ever knowing what exactly is the full story....otherwise its made up stuff, from someone trying to make some money....

try Slash's book or Keidis book for some great insights into Rock music, or the Dirt for that matter. I really hope the band pen their own book one day, and likewise for Michael Stipe and Bruce....would be terrific reads I think

its not about the band at all, but it is about our way of life.

I second that! And Slash's book was great, too. I think I need a breather after reading them back to back...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I do have Ishmael, I started reading it and never finished it, I actually had completely forgot about that book, I think that is what I will read for now.

I looked into the Motely book, I've heard good things about it, but I don't think I would finish it because I absolutely hate Vince Neil and the band, I pretty much hate all the hair metal bands, not a big fan of Slash either, I think I will finish Ishmael and then look to find a good sports book or a book on Led Zepellin's career....anyone with any suggestions on the Zeppelin book feel free to chime in...
