Didn’t grab me initially tbh, but that’s a good thing, good albums can take time. I’m just glad to hear some new FF music, especially after what’s transpired in the last 1-2 years. Will be listening over the weekend for sure.

Watching them live from Rock Am Ring right now on YT. Dave's voice seems like he needs a day off.

Dave did the drums on this record.  RIP Taylor

Wow, this album might be the best thing they’ve ever done. Certainly in the last decade. Has a Wasted Light feel but with way more personal lyrics. Amazing writing and his vocals sound great. Sometimes dark but in the context of what he and the band have been through it all fits. I’m not usually one to call an album brilliant after 4 or 5 spins but this is top notch.

man, good records always take me time. I'm kinda bored listening to it right now. But so, so many records haven't grabbed me that later became a favourite.
Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall

Picked it up yesterday but haven’t had a chance to listen yet.

It was a lot of fun watching the Rock Am Ring feed though.

I told myself not to expect too much from this album given the circumstances. Had two spins already. First didn't grab me but picked up some nice moments on the second. Will have to give the Teacher some time. Long epics aren't in the Foos' wheelhouse bit it's a great tribute and challenge to themselves. Was expecting some high level songwriting akin to Blackbird by Alter Bridge-that song is craftsmanship at the highest level-The Teacher hasn't hit that mark for me yet. Drums aside from Rescued aren't as bombastic sounding as usual either. Wonder if that's very deliberate. Will keep spinning it that's for sure. The Metallica album keeps chucking up nice moments with each playback so hopefully this keeps doing the same.

About 2/3rds through for the first listen and this is a really fucking good album. Best one they’ve done in a long time. Not sure I’m thrilled with the production though.

This is a great record, I think it’s one of the best they’ve done. It’s been a while since I’ve sat and listened to a Foo album in full, as they are always dominated by the big singles, but this is a ‘proper’ album that needs your full attention.

There are a lot of deep moments, obviously referencing Taylor and Virginia Grohl. It’s impressive enough that this record got made at all, even more impressive that it’s such a good one.

This album is really growing on me. It’s fucking awesome. Incredible that this band was able to make this record during such a sad period of time.
