  • I just can't believe that not one person at the 10 Club said "Our members weren't happy when we raised the membership fee and only offered a t-shirt and THIS is the t-shirt you want to send out? Maybe designing this on an etch-a-sketch wasn't the best idea..."
guess thats the problem with having a band member design it (that was the rumor right?)

who's gonna say no to them?... even i would have a hard time

they usually have such cool shirts for themselves... i have a hard time believing this is something someone in the band would wear, let alone design

I too would be very surprised if a band member designed this. It looks so cheap and really has no redeeming qualities.

It would have been easier to put the current 10 Club shirt design on a limited color t-shirt. I would have been happier with that. This design is brutal at best. I'm still going to go Analog, but they should be embarrassed for letting this design be the first one for the new Analog membership.

  • just a thought....the shirt would have been AMAZING had each band member signed a different shirt and they were mailed out randomly. I bet then there'd be no complaints..but who knows. Still think that would have been awesome and made it a MUCH more appealing shirt :D

Ten club is a business. They don't care about your feelings.... They want to make the most money while offering you the least...The sooner you guys realize this, the sooner you'll stop being/feeling dooped. Im not using it as an excuse for ten c, i'm just saying it is what it is. Had ten club put out a picture of the shirt before anyone purchased an "analog" membership they know that everyone would collectively chuckle and stick to digital just out of principle. I mean they did nothing wrong, they told you that you were basically just getting a t shirt for the additional $20. Don't be offended by the lameness of the shirt or ten club, be offended that you are willing to pay double club fees for a shirt you can't even see first! I think its all pretty fucking brilliant on ten clubs part, im just glad im wise enough to see through it.

The only problem I have with your post is that there are businesses out there that do legitimately care about the customer's experience. Relegating the 10 Club's practices as being "just business" is not a plausible excuse for the lack of concern and sometimes utter contempt they show towards their fan club members.

yah but then it might as well not be a shirt at all

no one in their right mind would wear a signed shirt (especially an ugly one) and a signature would hold up a little better on a different surface

something signed is a great idea though

i think he/she is suggesting that every shirt would be signed by 1 of 5 band members... not 5 signed shirts total

lol at you drama queens...what do you do when something that is actually bad happens?
have never had any issues w/ ten club. Always been good to me and always got priority seating for every show I've wanted but....

NO, you are in the majority... not the few whiney little bitches that complain about any change or issue.

yah the whole "its just business" thing is laughable

any other business that went about things this way would go under... our love/obsession of PJ is the only thing that prevents that

in all seriousness though, I don't see this design as a "fuck you" to anyone... it's just not good... their intentions were probably fine... though obviously a bit out of touch

it might as well have just said "JAMILY" in a big san serif font... do they really think we're this cheesy??

As I see it, if you have good sensibility on ebay you can probably pick up the single for 10.00 w/ shipping. There is also the chance that the 10 Club will make more than they send and offer them on the site for $4.00.

I doubt you will find this year's single on eBay for $10 for a number of reasons... mainly supply and demand:

    A) Most people who spent the extra $20 did it just so they could get the single - which means they are less likely to sell it. Which means a diminished supply on the secondary market.

    B) You now have a pretty good percentage of people who used to get the single every year not getting one anymore. So you will have more people scouring eBay for a copy of the single. Which will increase the demand on the secondary market.

Combine these factors and I bet you're probably looking at one of the higher priced singles of the last few years.

And I doubt the 10 Club will sell the singles for $4 after the fact - this would undermine most people's incentive to pay the extra $20 for the analog membership. They would be undercutting their own business model.

Yes there are businesses that do genuinely care about what their customers want but you apparently don't feel this way about ten c. So its either shit or get off the pot at this point. Just accept that its a crappy business and take your money elsewhere if you're offened by how this paticular business treats its customers. I personally thought that paying an extra twenty bucks to get a t shirt that i can't even see was retarded so i checked the digi portion! Use common sense people. I don't understand how come with any other business people are so concerned with every penny they put into and are so observant but people have such a romanticism with this band that they see it differently. People bitching about this club has never accomplished anything, if that were the case they would be an infalliable business at this point..Im saying, if you have a beef with ten club, hit them where it hurts, the wallet. Thats when they'll feel the damage of shit business skills. Don't give them money if you don't feel they deserve it . Just saying, actions > words

Dudes, the t shirt is poor right?

But seriously it's a t shirt....that's all. It's not that big a deal. There are children in Africa who don't know if they will eat tonight... And look at the reaction to this t shirt....

Like I say I'm not a fan, but I think a little perspective needs applying at times...

I don't see the t-shirt as an FU to fans at all. My comment, while including this t-shirt debacle, was also referencing "ass-hole gate" "big, bold and free" "your membership doubles in price tomorrow... oh yea happy new year!" "free d/l with purchase of Backspacer" etc... While I was using hyperbole to raise a point I think there is some truth to it.

A "bit" out of touch is being really nice by the way.

What does my opinion on a t-shirt have to do with starving children anywhere?

I am a actually board member of this organization. We are in the process of becoming an official Non Profit Organization right now. Maybe you can come to one of our 6k's in the future or one of our other events. That way you can actually help out with the situation instead of comparing the problem to a t-shirt.
