would it be worth it to put a V30 in my Fender Frontman 65r. Not in the market for an amp right now with all these damn concerts going on but could probably drop $100 on a speaker. I really don't use the 65r's drive, I use pedals.
Any opinions would be great or other options as a replacement for now.

I mean, if you really like the amp, by all means do it. Modding gear you don't LOVE tends to not make you love the gear anymore, if that makes sense?

Putting a V30 in a Fender Frontman will probably improve the sound, but it won't make it sound like a tube amp. So, in the big picture, spending $100 on a speaker is not as effective as saving it for the tube amp.
HOWEVER... if you were planning on upgrading the Blues Deluxe to a V30 speaker, you could buy it for the Frontman now, and then swap the V30 from the Frontman to the Blues Deluxe once you upgrade. Plus, by then the speaker will have been properly broken-in.
But really, buying the tube amp will be a bigger improvement in your tone than a speaker upgrade in the Frontman.

I just picked up a little box for around 150. I use it for gigs cause I was suck of lugging fender tube amp out. The distortion and tremolo are insane. Reverb sucks but for 150 or whatever I paid you can't beat it!

I hear ya. I'm definitely moving up to the blues deluxe so you are probably right just save the $80 to $100.
I honestly don't mind the 65r I just didn't know if it would make a drastic tone difference in a solid state amp.
