In a good way?

I was just listening to a boot... I was choking up during the audience participation in both Porch and Present Tense. It happens all the time with me... :D and Arc? Oh, fuck!

I'm a guy! :p

Yep. I always come close to tears when I hear "Parachutes." It's hard to explain, really, but it makes sense to me.

Have also come close to tears hearing live performances of "Release," "Oceans" (especially the MTV Unplugged version), "Arc," and a few others.

Nothingman at Katowice and Wish List at Nijmegen totally got me. :o
Nothingman because it was the first time I had heard it live and it was so WOW, wishlist because Ed didn't fuck up the lyrics at all and the rendition was totally perfect.

I can see Release but not Parachutes . This is why we love them!

Betterman always makes me sad. I had a really good friend that married a complete asshole and actually ended up strangling her and killing her a few years ago and her favorite PJ song was always Betterman. When ever I hear that song, I think of her.

    The bastard got life.

Come Back and Thumbing my Way are songs that I choke up when listening. The lyrics are so deep and strike a chord with me.

I've never cried to a PJ song but I remember driving in the car with my mom when Last Kiss came on. It had just been released and it was the first time she had heard it. By the time it was over she was balling her eyes out.

Always when I hear Man of the Hour. Just laid my Dad to rest yesterday and read the lyrics at the end of the eulogy. My Dad will always be a Big Fish. Love ya Dad.

"Release" makes me cry sometimes, depending on what mood I'm in. I just feel like it speaks to me and my relationship with my mom. My mom just recently decided that she wanted to become a part of my life again after up and leaving when I was three years old (I'm 32 now). Just as easily as she got on a plane and left my dad, my brother and I almost thirty years ago, she called me a couple months ago and told me she was coming to Seattle and wanted to buy me my wedding dress.

I'm over it, and was over it a long time ago. My dad alone was about five hundred and one times the parent she ever will be, and I don't have any anger or hostility towards her anymore, because she is what she is and it's not my fault, my dad's, or my brother's, but it's hard not to still feel hurt, especially when she married some other guy and had two more kids.

during the west & east coast ed tours i went to (6 total), everytime man of the hour, you got to hide your love away & throw your arms around me were played (even the track setting forth for some reason); my eyes would just water like crazy. i tried to hide it with the friends i took to the show's. they might of noticed it.

i surprised each friend i sat with at the ed show's this '08. the sadest thing is .. i haven't talked to those friends in a while. one of them, i've stopped talking to. the other's are just busy & just don't care to pm or email me anymore.

which makes things more sad & depressing. :(
    but life goes on ...

Man, those are awful stories. I feel for you both :(.

PJ doesn't make me cry for any reason, they just "get to me." I can't watch IIC without choking up at certain points :p.

listening to Fatal from Lost Dogs one night before bed,
id had a terrible evening, this boy that i liked had been a HUGE JERK to me.
and i kept listening to Ed sing the first two lines,
"How good is he? How warm are his eyes?"

and i just cried me eyes out.

not to mention when i was watching IIC,
i cried when Ed played Immortal.
    oh man.

    Man of the Hour

I saw the movie soon after my father passed away suddenly in 04. The song itself was great but once I put the story to what happened with my father it really connected with me.

I saw them do it in 06 in Camden and it honestly brought up a lot of emotions, my wife was even taken a little back by it. Still does bring up feelings but now I have them under control:)
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

Every now and then "All or None" will make me tear up. I've always wanted to hear that song live, and I know if I do, the tears will be flowing. :o

Come Back - I think there was only one time I did not cry to that one.

    Thumbing My Way - Occasionally

There is not many songs out there that can make me cry under normal circumstances (meaning if I'm not already sad about something)

Wishlist has me almost crying, I choke up!
I think because I can relate to it so much as there are so many things missing in my life at the moment.

Nothingman, Last Kiss, Daughter, Come Back & Thumbing my way are other songs that I can think of at the moment that make me emotional!

Man of the hour has made my cry a few times...makes me think of my father in law:(

Thumbing my way, sleight of hand, all or none, and off he goes can get me from time to time if I'm already in that kind of mood....like tonight.
