I have always said that you will not find a bigger collection of d-bags than at the gym. It would make the perfect setting for a sitcom. This article is kinda long, but I think it sums up some of the characters that you find at the gym (you all know the turds you see that wear a bandana or headband/wristbands...do a set every 10 minutes and spend most of their time talking to anyone that will listen to them. Then tell everyone they 'worked out' for 2 hours).

    Proud to say I've worked out almost every day for the past 15 years and I've never been to a gym. Only gym was P.E. in high school.

    I went running in zero degree weather last night and it felt great... Pull-up bar, push-ups, sit-ups, squats.. who needs a gym.

    lets not forget the wrong way runner. you know, the one that is out for a nice run on the streets. of course instead of using the sidewalk, they run in the street, in the direction of traffic, vs. running in the opposite direction of traffic like you are suppose to.

    his close cousin. the wrong way biker. you know, they like to ride agaist the flow of traffic.

    This is the worst time of the year to go to the gym. All the people with their new years resolutions....hard to even get on a machine sometimes. Looking forward to March when it is back to business as usual.

    What's wrong with a bandana? I'm not wearing it there for a fashion statement, but it's the only way to keep sweat out of my eyes when I'm doing 200 floors on the stair climber.

    The gym I used to go to had this one guy in there every day and he would be in there for hours (from what I've heard from the trainers).
    I would always see him just walking around talking to everyone and walking with a strut whilst giving others dirty looks, including me, he thought because his arms were massive he was king shit.

    I tried to work at a gym for 2 years (tried because I've never seen so many unprofessional people in one place) and that article couldn't be more true. Although we were a high price gym, so some of the species mentioned in the article were hunted down to extinction (camper, grunter, hoarder,...), personal trainers were not allowed and the circuit jerks were escorted to one of the 2 circuits where they had to obey to a lights-system or risk being thrown out and banned for life :mrgreen:

    I work out at a budget-chain now though and am the only woman who dares to set foot in the weights-area thanks to the cave-men who practically live there. Since it's always the same idiots, most of them learned to stop staring when I give them the lifted eyebrow stink-eye and the hoarders fork over whatever I need when I tell them to stop sitting on it *g* Some of them even mumble a hello when they have a good day :D

    Was doing cable flies today and some turd asks me to work in. no problem. then he proceeds to set up mats, a bench, and change the height of the cables. took me a lot of willpower to not tell the dude that in the time it took him to set shit up I could have finished my two sets I had left.

    Seemed like this guy was in my way throughout my entire workout. That ever happen to anyone?

    Recently saw some guy all tattooed up, wearing what looked like brand new expensive Jordan's, and an authentic Derrick Rose jersey. It also looked like he had used about a half of a bottle of gel on his hair about 20 minutes prior.

    Maybe he confused the gym with the nightclub?
