I love it for what it is, but the Miles Davis Bitches Brew tasted much better to me.
    I'll agree with you!!!
FAITHFULL ALE isn't the BEST BEER I've ever had, but it's definitely not the WORST!!! :D
I like the BITCHES BREW much better...
Just finished a Raison D'etre and I'm still trying to chase down a bottle of the HELLHOUND too!!!! :ugeek:

raison d'etre is a thing of beauty

  • Raison D'etre is hands down my favorite beer.

I finally drank a Faithfull Ale last night. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be after reading so many negative reviews. It wasn't great by any means but still pretty good. Drinking the bottle while watching The Kids Are 20 made for a pretty fun night.

I wouldn't have said it was BAD, just NOT good.
Or to be more accurate ... bland &\or boring.

They must have used TWO currants per batch.
I dunno. Is there a flavor distribution center near me where i can just go get some flavor added?

Favorite Beers = Tripel Karmeliet & La Chouffe
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

may agree with you on that.
I know it poured with no head ... but then again, i wasn't the one who poured it.
Though my friend is a beer snob, so I assume he would have at least tried for it.

Two things - First, I tried Faithfull Ale for the first time today, as I listened to the 9/11 concert and cooked up Thanksgiving dinner. I gotta say, I've enjoyed it a lot. Second - for anyone in the Winston Salem, GSO area, there are still a couple of bottles available at the Whole Foods in Winston. I had bought some last week and went by there today and there were still two left. I'll be heading back tomorrow afternoon and I'll check it out again. In related news, I got the Hellhound Ale - anyone try that and what did you think?
  • So my friend (the same one who got me the bottles of Faithful) was at Cape Fear Wine & Beer in Wilmington, NC yesterday, and they had it on draught.

He said it was COMPLETELY different.
Tasted WAY better, and was virtually unrecognizable in comparison with what we had out of the bottle.
He was actually mildly impressed with the keg version.

    ???
    What gives
    ???

Okay I am happy to hear that I am NOT crazy.

I had this beer over a month ago on tap and rated it a B+. The beer I had out of the bottle yesterday would have gotten a C rating.

If anyone in central Ohio is still looking for Faithfull Ale, Brews Cafe in Granville has two cases of it, along with Hellhound and Bitches Brew. Give them a call, because I'm not sure if they are trying to sell them as a trio or not.

I would like to ask that Dogfish Head make more and make it available for a long time.

My wife and I finally tried a bottle last night and she loved it. It also put her in quite a good mood.

    More Faithfull Ale please. Thanks!

Just found some at Jungle Jims right outside of Cincinnati.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!
