    No question....Soundgarden is the choice.

Audioslave's first album is pretty good. The 2nd one started gettin pretty generic. The last one was awful.

Soundgarden is samey?? That right there tells me you haven't listened to much of their music if you think it's more in line with a certain sound than AS.

I've probably listened to more Audioslave in my life, but can't say I've got the same fulfillment I've gotten as when listening to SG. Just so much more depth to them.

I'm the biggest SG and AS fan your gonan get but SG are way better than audioslave.

You they are 'unique'? haha you not hear Rage Against The Machine, pretty much the exact guitar tone and kinda riff playing, not mention solos etc. The only real unique songs are the one Cornell wrote like I Am The Highway etc which then circle back to SG and his solo stuff.

tom morello definitely comes up with some crazy solos, but soundgarden was ten times the band audioslave was! maybe soundgarden could add tom to share the leads... oh, that won't work, tom can only play in 4/4.

    grace and peace
  • I think we should just all agree that Chris Cornell from here on out has to open with Audioslave and close with Soundgarden at every concert he plays for the rest of his career......And an encore with Timbaland, for those who are in to that sort of thing.
  • or fuck it all, i want cornell/timbaland

I hope I smell sarcasm all over this.

Agree with this completley except I've listened to more Soundagarden then audioslave.

Samey? 'Louder Than Love', 'Badmotorfinger', 'Superunknown' and 'Down On The Upside' are all very different sounding albums I think. First Audioslave album was great but after that it gets a bit ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Personally I think Soundgarden are overrated. Ultra-Mega OK and Louder Than Love are alright, Badmotorfinger is awesome, Superunknown is alright and Down On The Upside is pretty lamo. Audioslave are depressing, but not as depressing as Velvet Revolver.

I like them both. Audioslaves first album is reeeeeally good but I think there's just something about Soundgarden. They just have such an energy and their songs are genius, plus gotta love Kim Thayil. :)

Edward totally should. He just needs convincing.

I really liked Audioslave when they first came out - I enjoyed their first album - went and saw them play when they came here (SEE? THEY CAME HERE) and enjoyed the fuck out of it... got to meet Tom Morello - he borrowed my pen. Then the second album.. did nothing for me. Then I didn't even realise they'd put out a 3rd because i just didn't care anymore.

Soundgarden though. I fully agree with the above... MATT CAMERON. Jesus Christ Pose makes me wanna pee my pants it's so good.

(btw i swear thats a young eddie at the 22 second mark  )

as i quote Eddie "every soundgarden record was a galvanized piece of......ummm you know it was a really focused vision and powerful, powerful records with no holes in them":lol:

I dont think audioslave could fall into that category....they have some really good music but i dont think it's on the same level as soundgarden
