The One Show You Regret Not Attending (PJ or not)

  • no kidding. I've seen QOTSA more any other band, and they have been excellent every single time. I cannot imagine them being horrible, or even anything close.
Queens of the Stone Age at Northern Lights Clifton Park, NY in 2008. Was at college and didn't have a car to get back home for the show. I may never have that good a chance to see QOTSA even again......:cry:
I saw them open for the red hot chili peppers at UMass. They were horrible

I hope your not being serious....

I don't know what he's talking about, they never disappoint. Anyway why wouldn't you get a chance to see them again, they're working on their new album and will tour later in the year.
  • PJ wise- Alpine Valley 98 and St. Louis 98, tickets fell through and either one would have been my first PJ show.

A couple other bummers were times I actually had tickets and couldn't make the show. One was Beck in 1999 at a small venue in St. Louis.. was snowed in by a blizzard and the 'rents wouldn't let my friends and me risk the drive... still never saw Beck live.

The other one was last August, I won free tickets to the Black Crowes. I had a minor surgical procedure on the day before that I didn't think would stop me from going... ended up being wayyy too sore to go.
No time to be void or save up on life, you gotta spend it all.

Pearl Jam- 10-30-09 at the Spectrum. I was at work when tix went on sale and missed out. :( Luckily they added the Halloween show later :D

Nine Inch Nails-@ Wachovia Center in '09. Was debating to go but passed cuz of the money, heard it was an awesome show.

This year: Lcd Soundsystem/Sleigh Bells at the Navy Yard. Didn't think tix would sell out but they were long gone. Tried scalping and craig's list all to no avail.

Phoenix at MSG few months back. DAFT PUNK joined them onstage for a few songs. That would have been hella cool to see live.

  • Nirvana live at Reading 1992, was supposed to be going and had to work that weekend, had a ticket but sold it. How could Iknow they would never play in the UK again? I also had tickets for the show they were going to play in Birmingham UK in 1994. Wasn't meant to be I guess. :(

I suppose this isnt a regret not attending but a regret not liking them sooner and being actively aware that they toured..... being in perth we get skipped over a great deal but i have a knack for becoming interested in bands and then finding out they just toured here....black crowes in 2008, alice in chains 2009, dead weather 2010 and them crooked vultures 2010..... I'm sure there are others but those are the big 4 in the last 3 years

Led Zeppelin - 1977 Pontiac Silverdome. I was only 15 but it was my last true chance to see them as Bonham died in 1980.

    :(

So many PJ shows but two in Glasgow, Cathouse 1992 I was outside but couldn't get in and SECC in 2000 it was quit my job to go or keep it and don't. I still regret not quitting the job, I mean if you want a job you'll find another and it wasn't the greatest anyway. I wish I'd stayed in Amsterdam in 2004 for two more nights and gone to see the other Tom Waits shows. Night 1 was truly amazing and I really wanted to stay but had a business to run at home. Booooooooooooo!! :(

Not seeing Pearl Jam sooner than I did. Always loved them, and had plans to see them summer after 8th grade with friends in San Diego when the whole ticketmaster dispute happened and the shows were cancelled. We were bummed and even though I'd still buy and listen to their albums, wouldn't buy tickets because of that.
Finally saw them in '06 on the Avocado tour and wow, had I been missing out all those years. 6 PJ and 1 EV show since then with hopefully many to follow.
Oh, also someone offered to sell me tickets to LA 3 '09. My girlfriend at the time scoffed at me when I asked her about buying them and taking her, saying "oh, so you just have to go to all the shows?" since I had already been to Outside Lands, and had tickets to LA 1, 2, and SD with other people. She realized she stuck her foot in her mouth since I called her out on going to 3 Angels games in 4 nights (Myself = Die-hard Dodgers fan) so she begged me to take her to LA 1 so she could share in something that I was so passionate about. She really enjoyed the show and as we were having dinner together the night of LA 3 which I passed up, she said she'd be curious to go again to see how much they change it up setlist wise and see how different of a show it was.
Needless to say, I was absolutely kicking myself later that night when friends at the show told me about Hunger Strike with Cornell.

My biggest disappointment is easily Jeff Buckley.

A female co-worker (who was pretty hot) had a spare ticket but to avoid an argument with my girlfriend at the time I declined - I think it was about a year later, u all know what happened..........:cry:

I'll never get that chance again and will always regret it :(

PJ - Wembley 2000... turned down the chance for various reasons when really I should have made more of an effort to go, it would have been my first PJ show.
Me too. I was away with a woman I'd met a couple of months before and thought that another chance would be along soon enough. 6 FUCKIN' YEARS!!!!!

Well I'm married to her now so I suppose it was worth it.

My biggest regret was not seeing Little Feat when I had the chance in the 70s. In 1979 Lowell George died so that was that.

The Presidents of the USA at the Beta Bar - maybe the 2004 tour?

Small club show - I was on the guest list and simply got too wasted to go to the show. I couldn't even stand up - still regret not going to that show.

Ahhhh...the Beta Bar. Isn't that the one that use to be The Cow Haus?

I wish I would have gone to see Deadmau5 when he came to Austin last year. I watched the DVD of the Toronto show and it looked amazing. I saw him at ACL a few years ago, but I know the visuals were better on this tour.

A U2 show in Melbourne. Cant remember what year it was, it would have been late 80s or early 90s. Had a ticket but it was pouring with rain that night, absolutely torrential and I decided I didnt want to brave the bad weather. I've seen them live since but would have liked to have seen them before they were as big as they are now.
