mine is The Tea Party, on their Alhambra Acoustic and Eclectic tour in 1996. Small intimate venue. All acoustic. One show in my life I'd go back in time to see is this one.

The Presidents of the USA at the Beta Bar - maybe the 2004 tour?

Small club show - I was on the guest list and simply got too wasted to go to the show. I couldn't even stand up - still regret not going to that show.

    bonnaroo 2006.

the only roo since 04 i missed. i could have, and should have went.
  • PJ - Wembley 2000... turned down the chance for various reasons when really I should have made more of an effort to go, it would have been my first PJ show. Guess I thought they'd be back soon enough... took another 6 years as we all know, by which point both the band and myself had changed quite a lot. There's a big difference between being 18 and care-free, and being 24 with responsibilities!!
  • Mansfield Mass in July of '03. Had a ticket, but decided to go on my honeymoon. She hates music. Now I'm divorced!!

First off great subject - I have a few. First was PJ Montreal 1998 then again in 2000. Both times were money issues. I was 19 & 21 and money for that age for me was a struggle like most people. I did make up for it by seeing them in Montreal 2003 so a had some redemption. I missed them in Montreal 2005 but went to Ottawa and Quebec so I can't really say I reget anything there. Plus, the reason I missed them was because I went to see Jack Johnson at a baseball field next town over from me so no regets there.

Other one is - I missed QOTSA opening for the RHCP back in 2003 or 2005 - I can't remember. The show was in Mansfield. I was at the venue, in the parking lot trying to get tix. I found people selling tix put I just wanted to pay $25 - $30 and I think face value was around $45ish, so me and my buddy left. Looking back I was such an idiot for not pulling the trigger on that! When I left the show some black truck was driving like an a-hole so that prompted me to drive like an a-hole. He must have called the cops because they were waiting for me in front on my parents house. They pulled me over to make sure I wasn't wasted and then let me go.

I did get to see QOTSA in 2007 at Lupo's in Providence & RHCP in Mansfield 2000 when the Foo's opened for them so again I had my redemption. What I learned from all of this - like in life try your best to have no regets!

Living in Chicago in '95, had just moved there and had very little money for shows.

Couldn't afford to go to the Grateful Dead at soldier field (which turned out to be Jerry's last show), and missed the epic Pearl Jam show at Soldier Field shortly thereafter too. Still can't believe I missed out on those two!
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

10/15/00- Pearl Jam- the 2nd night. Went the first one. Tried to scalp a ticket but the guy in front of me got arrested. so bought a shirt instead. Although 10/14/00 was a longer set (and we did get long road as the opener). Oceans opened the 2nd night.

Brad/ Band of Horses- had to miss due to family emergency.

well said my friend. Foos live is awesome. only seen them 3 times, but put on a hell of a show. Looking forward to the new album as well. Guess I should mention I wish I could have made the co headline tour they did with Chili peppers in 99-2000??? Always heard RHCP were hit or miss, but the one time I saw them, in 2006 thought RHCP did a great job. Really want to time machine back to that show now with Foo Fighters.

I had a chance to see oasis at Knebworth 15 1995. I was traveling in Europe at that time and a friend had applied for tickets and got 2. I ended up missing the concerts due to food poisoning. there was over 120,000 people at each concert.
  • no kidding. I've seen QOTSA more any other band, and they have been excellent every single time. I cannot imagine them being horrible, or even anything close.

I don't know what he's talking about, they never disappoint. Anyway why wouldn't you get a chance to see them again, they're working on their new album and will tour later in the year.
  • PJ wise- Alpine Valley 98 and St. Louis 98, tickets fell through and either one would have been my first PJ show.

A couple other bummers were times I actually had tickets and couldn't make the show. One was Beck in 1999 at a small venue in St. Louis.. was snowed in by a blizzard and the 'rents wouldn't let my friends and me risk the drive... still never saw Beck live.

The other one was last August, I won free tickets to the Black Crowes. I had a minor surgical procedure on the day before that I didn't think would stop me from going... ended up being wayyy too sore to go.
No time to be void or save up on life, you gotta spend it all.

Pearl Jam- 10-30-09 at the Spectrum. I was at work when tix went on sale and missed out. :( Luckily they added the Halloween show later :D

Nine Inch Nails-@ Wachovia Center in '09. Was debating to go but passed cuz of the money, heard it was an awesome show.

This year: Lcd Soundsystem/Sleigh Bells at the Navy Yard. Didn't think tix would sell out but they were long gone. Tried scalping and craig's list all to no avail.

Phoenix at MSG few months back. DAFT PUNK joined them onstage for a few songs. That would have been hella cool to see live.

  • Nirvana live at Reading 1992, was supposed to be going and had to work that weekend, had a ticket but sold it. How could Iknow they would never play in the UK again? I also had tickets for the show they were going to play in Birmingham UK in 1994. Wasn't meant to be I guess. :(

I suppose this isnt a regret not attending but a regret not liking them sooner and being actively aware that they toured..... being in perth we get skipped over a great deal but i have a knack for becoming interested in bands and then finding out they just toured here....black crowes in 2008, alice in chains 2009, dead weather 2010 and them crooked vultures 2010..... I'm sure there are others but those are the big 4 in the last 3 years

So many PJ shows but two in Glasgow, Cathouse 1992 I was outside but couldn't get in and SECC in 2000 it was quit my job to go or keep it and don't. I still regret not quitting the job, I mean if you want a job you'll find another and it wasn't the greatest anyway. I wish I'd stayed in Amsterdam in 2004 for two more nights and gone to see the other Tom Waits shows. Night 1 was truly amazing and I really wanted to stay but had a business to run at home. Booooooooooooo!! :(
