Starting May 17 at 6pm ET, SiriusXM will launch Tom Petty Radio — a new limited-run channel celebrating Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' summer tour. Tom Petty Radio will feature music spanning the rock legend's entire career, including his longtime band The Heartbreakers and his solo work, as well as The Traveling Wilburys and his first band, Mudcrutch. The channel will also present live concert material from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' recent tours and some rarely heard vintage performances.
Listeners will also hear Petty and the members of the Heartbreakers discuss the creation of some of their most notable songs as well as some memorable moments on tour. Additionally, Tom Petty Radio will feature some classic moments from Tom Petty's Buried Treasure, SiriusXM's weekly show which features the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer playing rare and classic tracks from his private vaults, along with his informed, passionate, and entertaining commentary.
And on June 1, SiriusXM will launch a new online channel showcasing Tom Petty's Buried Treasure. This exclusive, 24/7 channel will be heard on SiriusXM Internet Radio on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com on channel 714.
Damn, I hope I can see them somehow on this Beacon run. However, money is tight...we'll see.

I'm sitting here under a tree in Strawberry Fields, and I can't remember what song it is that Mike Campbell plays a guitar modeled after John Lennon's iconic Gretch. First person to come here and tell me the song name - hint: they played it last night - gets TWO FRONT ROW tickets to tonight's sold-out show at the Beacon! #tpathtour2013 #beacontheatre #ticketgiveaway #nyc at Strawberry Fields - "Imagine" Mosaic

Tell the captain 'This boats not safe And we're drowning.'
Dug a bit deeper and included some great covers. Rebel, her comes my girl, and refugees were classic. Tweeter and the monkey man was killer. Friend of the devil was awesome. It's good to be king was shockingly awesome.
Mike Campbell is awesome and petty seems ageless!
Worth every penny!
On a side note, EV should chill the fuck out with his cell phone policy at a venue like the beacon. Who gives a shit? I know it's annoying, but outlawing it and forcing your fans to police themselves is more annoying! A lot less drama at a petty show with no "rules"!
Great night. Great venue! Love the beacon... It's a NYC treasurer!
It does suck but it wouldn't surprise me if this happened because the venue was overbooked by someone trying to cash in. The same thing has happened numerous times in rock and roll history.
p.s. Saw T.P. and Heartbreakers with Bob Dylan at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA in the 80's. Fantastic show!

He's awesome. Period. Thanks Rico for hooking me up with his albums!

This was exactly the case. As I was waiting for my +1 to arrive, I watched them sell entrances to an entire line of walk-ups that was at least 50+ people. In all my years of going to shows, that's the most walk-ups I've ever seen get in to a "sold out" show. I say they sold them "entrances" because I'm pretty sure there weren't any actual tickets involved, just wristbanding them to squeeze some extra cash out of the demand. I was in the first row of the balcony and when Tom said they had to move 100 people from the floor up there. I turned around and other than a few random single seats that were open, the balcony was already packed with SRO and there's no way they could have fit that many people up there. Thankful that I won the tickets and didn't spend hundreds in the secondary market because it wasn't fun having my first Tom Petty show experience cut short.

Saw Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers last night in London, Ontario. First time seeing him, had great seats, in the wings about 15 rows up, parallel to row 4 on the floor, stage right

I always liked their music (how can anyone not?) and started with the Greatest Hits, but I've recently found a lot of their/his albums via the libary, and the ones I can't borrow, I may buy eventually.
I've been doing the same with Neil Young for years (but he's got a lot more albums).
Those two are my fave 'classic' rockers for sure. But I prefer TP by a mile. Great stuff.

I was at this show. It was pretty great, up until we all had to go. Luckily, they were able to play their whole set at Sunday's also incredible show.
