    get full moon fever too.

You also need to get the "Running Down A Dream" dvd; that documentary is one of the best music docs out there.

The 4 disc version includes the Gainsville FL concert from 2006, and also comes with a 7 song audio ep.

I believe there may be a 2 discs version with just the documantary as well, not sure though.

Very true. I went to my first Tom Petty show this past summer at Philips Arena in Atlanta. Completely awesome.

One of the best purchases you could ever make is also "Hard Promises".

That album rocks, period. Tom Petty is awesome, there really isn't much he's put out that isn't good stuff. He's consistent in what he does, and he's got some pretty talented musicians playing with him, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench especially.

Their cover of "Friend Of The Devil" is simply awesome. I think it completely blows away the Dead's original.

You can't go wrong with anything Petty. I'm a big fan of Highway Companion (solo TP).

Great musical taste Rico! We'll have to get you into some Who / Townshend and you'll be complete :-D

You'll love it. Great Great film and the concert dvd will give you a great feel for what Petty is like live.

Just FYI: Lots of guests appearences in the film some including:
    Eddie Vedder
    Dave Grohl
    Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics)
    Stevie Nicks.

I would also recommend if your liking Petty to check out Traveling Wilburys and Mudcrutch. You will learn more about those bands in the film as well. The music is great though- Wilbury stuff is legendary. A hell of a supergroup: Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison (1rst album only) Jeff Lynne and George Harrison. Incredible tunes those guys made.

Really old Mudcrutch I don't think was officially released except for what was in the film.
The band did regroup and record an album with Petty on Vocals on a bach of newer songs though. that album is just self titled Mudcrutch.

Just thought I'd mention these as they are really good, and you want even more of Petty's work.

Hope this helps. Enjoy man. Petty is amazing. :D

    this.

Looking forward to hearing your opinion on Wilburys as well. Great band absolutely phenominal. However most people probably have to be introduced to one of the artist(s) indivisually to get into it. It's the best supergroup out there. Love that collaberation. My 2nd fave callaboration was Mad Season (Mike Mc Cready was in this with Layne Staley), but another thread of its own. :D

    enjoy my friend. :D

Rico, this shouldn't be your next Petty purchase but it can't be overlooked...

It's all Petty and very good
    includes:
    Walls
    Climb That Hill
Change the Locks < --- Great tune
