I'm pretty liberal, but am not concerned about global warming. It's going to happen and unless we stop breeding, there's very little we can do about it. Everyone gets into heated debates about it, and I think to myself, stop having fucking children and in a few years all this will be fixed... There are over 6 billion people sucking resources from a planet that was designed to support hundreds of thousands of us at most. Do the math.

At best, Fox News only has about 1% of the US Population as viewers on any given day, so arguments like that really don't make a lot of sense. CNN actually had more overall viewers in 2010 than any other cable news network, or were you lumping them in as a retarded organization?

Extended exposure to Fox News makes voters stupid, university study finds
The troublesome record of spin by conservative television station Fox News has long been a cause for concern to many Americans, who frequently allege that the nation's most viewed "news" network has the effect of dumbing down voters.
Turns out, they were right.
A University of Maryland study (PDF) published earlier this month found that people in the survey who had the most exposure to Fox News were more likely to believe falsehoods and rumors about national and world affairs when compared to those who paid attention to other news outlets.
In a summary carried by Alternet, the following falsehoods were most relayed by Fox News viewers:
91 percent believed the stimulus legislation lost jobs;
72 percent believed the health reform law will increase the deficit;
72 percent believed the economy is getting worse;
60 percent believed climate change is not occurring;
49 percent believed income taxes have gone up;
63 percent believed the stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts;
56 percent believed Obama initiated the GM/Chrysler bailout;
38 percent believed that most Republicans opposed TARP;
63 percent believed Obama was not born in the U.S. (or that it is unclear).
The poll's findings seem to sync with those of an NBC News survey (PDF) taken during the height of America's health care reform debate, where Fox News viewers were found to be most likely to have believed wildly inaccurate interpretations of the legislation.
While Fox News and parent company News Corporation have long been criticized cheerleading Republican causes and conservative-allied business interests, it has been under more intense criticism of late over high profile donations to Republicans, deceptive video editing on multiple programs and even on-air GOP fundraisers.
Though the station claims to run "news" programming during the daytime, liberal watchdog group MediaMatters recently revealed a leaked email that shows one of the network's top editors ordering anchors to use terminology favored by conservatives.
In a follow-up, the media blog released a second leaked email showing the same editor, Fox News Washington, DC managing editor Bill Sammon, directing staff to cast doubt upon climate data, even when it was not in question. The revelation was hailed by former Vice President Al Gore, a champion of climate change activism, who argued it proves the spin coming from Fox News is straight from the top.
And it doesn't help that one of their most-watched opinion hosts, conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck, is prone to making up outrageous falsehoods to scare viewers.
The network has big plans to expand it's brand into the future: According to anchor Chris Wallace, the 2012 Republican presidential primary elections will be "a production of Fox News," not unlike the Fox network's American Idol.
Virtually all the leading GOP candidates are paid contributors for the network, and over 30 Fox News personalities have endorsed Republicans in the past.
The Obama administration, similarly, has called Fox News "a wing of the Republican party."

There are many media outlets that provide utter SHITE as far as relevant, accurate, and unbiased information. Fox News just happens to be at the very top of that HEAP OF SHITE.

You're right, they're all utter shit. Fox News is blatantly the worst, though. They are more biased towards the republican party than I am towards the female anatomy. If you don't see that, then I don't think there is any hope for you.
But again, they're all utter shit. Read Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent for a good understanding of why they are. I'm too hungover to get into details, but yeah, I don't even listen to NPR anymore. But, it's not that difficult to search the internets for real information rather than meaningless rhetoric. You certainly won't get it from FOX CNN CBS NBC ETC...

I hate the fact that Democrats have taken something that is a fact that everyone can agree on (Pollution is bad for you) and politicizing it, giving it a polarizing key word "Global Warming" and therefore make 50% of the people for it in the process. I hate Republicans that are Pro-Pollution, really, you can figure out that toxic waste is bad for Everything?
I enjoy going hunting (not in helicopters mind you) and fishing. I enjoy clean air and water and it pisses me off that some suit in a giant corporation gets to make an extra billion in profit by spewing waste everywhere.

NOTHING will happen in 2012. The Mayan calendar mathematically had to end at some point and restart. It just so happens to restart next year. This is yet another in a long series of doomsday scenarios...same as Y2K or the imminent ice-age of the 70's.
Fox may be biased towards Republicans, but if you can't see that virtually every other media outlet is a lapdog of the Libs, then there not be any hope for you.

also I agree with your doomsday post, I was talking to an older gentleman mid 70's I'm guessing(aerospace engineer) about this end of the world stuff and he told me every generation has it's end of the world predictions and this one is no different then gave examples starting back in the 40's and non ever came to be.

Many of those predictions were based upon the 'hole' in the polar regions ozone layer. The hole was caused by the use of CFC's commonly used in those days. Had we NOT done anything to ban the release of harmful CFC's into the atmosphere... would some of those predictions have come true?

My point is... the predictions were based upon the data available at that time and factored in the results of not taking any action in order to remedy the problem.

My advice: Don't take other people's opinions as truth. Check it out yourself.

i'm not sure what you're asking ... but you can look at all the historical weather related data all you like - it may or may not show what you are looking for ...
at the end of the day ... global warming is the biggest threat to life on this planet as we speak ... and when i talk about life - i am talking about all life ... not just humans ...
the only people that would have you believe otherwise are the people who are most likely benefitting from the cause ... these are your oil executives and the like ... don't let your disdain for inefficiently run gov't distract you from the issue at hand ...

In my experience, which is pretty involved since I deal heavily with weather patterns for our area, the variations have been minimal for our area, and the records I have on file go back to 1895. I've had to build this database in order to regulate our crop planting, and I also use the records for another industry that I'm involved in. I'm curious if my area is just the exception to the overall theory on climate. I'd like to start looking at Almanac data for various regions of the country and see exactly how much deviation there has been.
