I used to cross cover in a burn ICU and I can't think of anything more painful... thank God for medically induced comas...

I love, love, love animals, but for that bison the best and kindest option was to shoot him and end his suffering. I can't imagine the animal could have survived those injuries.

Agreed, it needed put down. I just can't believe it could outrun a griz with those melted legs. A griz can outrun a healthy horse over short distances. The griz probably had no food in its belly and no energy to chase something down.

Oh yeah, sorry Aussie jargen! Yeah, like a pick-up truck! My friend who works in one of the outback vets used to see it alot! Like nearly every couple of weeks. The dogs would either be burnt badly from the road or hung by the neck from their leash. Really sad.

Poor Cow! i would think animals would know to stay away, sad.

The animals do know. However, the ground is so unstable above some of those geothermic areas that living things wind up puncturing a thin layer of rock and fall into the boiling water beneath. There are booby traps everywhere in the backcountry of YSP. Don't fuck around with that shit if you go...

ew yea, my best friends dad is a building maintenance engineer at a hospital and he said he can't work down there, once he was fixing something in the burn unit and he said the screaming and the smell was too much...

I can remember cross covering there and helping one of the regular burn nurses with dressing changes. Took two of us an hour and a half, working through the arm holes in the plastic sheeting encasing the ICU bed. We had to wear visors or our faces would literally stick to the plastic.

Definitely not something for the easily nauseated...
