Sadly this sort of shit happens way too much. It seems to be an almost regular occurrence here in brisso. On time a 15 or 16 year old boy was at a party and was king hit, fell back busted his head on a gutter and died. I don't know why people would go out any more, king hits, glassings, fights with 4 or 5 guys against one. It's bullshit an disgusting. Back in my day if you got in a fight it was you know a couple of swings at each other, fight gets broken up you walk away. Today it's like an ultimate fighting championship, even if you do get not to the ground that ain't the head of it, you get kicked, have your head stomped on and what not. It's fucking unnecessary.

I don't go out to the city anymore, I live a hermit life now and visit my friends houses here and there.
Fuck that, I got my nieces and nephew to live for.
You accidentally bump into someone or just rub past their arm or innocently look at them and you apologies then get put in hospital, not worth it.
It is only here in Australia that we are like this, I've been out in Europe on the nightscene, none of this crap.
People there drink and are merry, singing and all, here we drink then kill each other.
Having nightclubs and stripclubs open till 7am serving alcohol does not help our pig culture.

As for glassings, did you see ACA tonight?
Females are doing it more than males now it seems.

    our pig culture????

yeah, you know... the thread about the guy asking for bacon at KFC...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Its not that bad. You bump into someone, say sorry straight away. Even if they bumo into you, say sorry. Sure there are instances where bad shit happens. Just avoid it....

    True that!

The other night (Wednesday) a car crashed into a local bar here, killing one and leaving two more in the ICU. My friends and I were actually planning to hit that bar that night, but changed our minds when a couple of us weren't feeling well.

I know all three guys. The one who was killed really was a good dude. I grew up with the 26-year-old. Went all through grade school and high school with him.

The number of glassings is frightening. I remember in the early 2000s some chick in Townsville glassed a guy we kinda knew....he was in a band and was a real dick and tbh had something like this coming for him for a long while....but it was a really strange thing....we'd never heard of anyone doing it before. I remember everyone saying "She what? GLASSED him? What's that!?"

Now it happens every fucking weekend.

I hear and read shit like this and find it very strange that alcohol is legal and marijuana is illegal. Alcohol is a fucking killer in so many ways. Will this brutal behaviour ever stop....or will it just keep escalating forever? This kind of thinking is part of society now. People just can't control themselves. The stamping on heads. Glassings. Sucker punches. Groups bashing one man etc. It's fucking disgusting. I really can't see what they can do to make it ever stop....except stop serving alcohol....which will never happen.

    What is "glassing?"

Smashing a drinking glass or a bottle into someone's face.

    That's terrible!

I've been in a situation "similar" to that back in college.
    Long story short...

I was walking home from a friend's place around 2AM. I only had a (a single drink) that entire night as I wasn't feeling all that well.
I was walking past this house that had some guys on the front porch. I could tell as I walked towards them that they were being loud, drunken, obnoxious idiots. I just kept my head down and walked by when one of the guys starts talking to me. I answered his questions politely and kept walking. The dude comes down from the porch and proceeds to follow me. I turn the corner of the block and he keeps following right behind me. I'm thinking "Goddamn it, I'm tired, I don't feel well, I just want to go home and this jackass is trying to start shit." I then told him that. About a half block later, he gets in front of me. I try to talk to him, but at this point I can tell he just wants to start shit. After about 2 mins of not getting anywhere with him, I try to step aside and walk by and he gets in front of me again. I grabbed my phone hoping he'd think I'd call the cops or something but that didn't work. Try it once more and as he stepped back I laid one into him (right in the cheek/nose). His drunk ass was out cold before he hit the ground. His head clunked on the sidewalk.
I checked to see if he was still breathing (which he was) and his pulse was strong, I slapped him and he was semi-conscious. At that point his buddies were coming around the corner so I got the hell outta there.
I'm the least violent person you'd ever meet, and that was the last thing I wanted to have happen!
I worried about it for the next couple of days, and fortunately I did see that guy about a week later (he didn't recognize me).
Looking back it could have been sooooo much worse.
I'm constantly amazed at people and how quickly dumb things and situations become violent.

It's quite possible that I'm entirely in the dark about this, but I haven't read about "glassings" in my little corner of the universe. There was an awful event at a club near Fenway Park, though _ one person threw a beer bottle intending to hit someone at a distance, and the bottle struck an uninvolved bystander, slicing him in the neck. He was just a young college-age kid, as I recall. He died as a result of the massive hemorrhage. It must have been a catastrophic injury, because there are two Level 1 trauma centers less than a half-mile from Fenway.

  • this is not unusual news. our globe is just becoming smaller. it still sickens me, but this shit happens every day, and always will, as long as humans rule the roost.

I agree with 81. I hit the liquor store and go to a buddy's place. or stay home with my wife.

obviously what I meant to say was...

I'm interested to see what these vids are, could be good for a laugh, but I'll have to wait till I get my lazy arse off the couch. Stupid apple and their lack of flash on their handheld devices.

When you dress up as a king and hit someone.
If you are not wearing a crown on your head then it does not count as a king hit.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_hit

Pretty much a forceful punch, usually from behind, the cowards way.

What I don't understand, it's the 1 or 2 assholes that ruin it for everybody. 95% of people wanna go to a bar to see a band play or whatever, and just have a good night with friends. I hate those guys for ruining it and making me watch my back.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
