Looking at this the next day it occurs to me that the man chasing you is a closet homosexual and that you're a young man. Perhaps he is chasing you but can't acknowledge you because he doesn't want others to know he's gay? (And that's a sad commentary on the social group he's chosen.)

That's a little more common than if you were a woman being pursued by a straight man this way.

Either way, I think this must a tough situation for you to be in.
