What does it mean when a guy follows you around for ten years
marries someone else
tells you he wants to have children with you
has his friends call you everyday
leaves mix tapes in your car everyday
says hes in love with you
but pretends you don't exist to everyone else?

    he's a stalker. :eh:

but seriously, he doesn't sound like someone that you need in your life. I would tell him to move on

The parts of this are odd.

Why doesn't he call you himself? Why have his friends do it?
Does anyone even make mix tapes these days?
Why would he pretend you don't exist?

What are you even hoping for?

  • yes its all super wierd to me too
but he has done it so long that I think it means something
I'm like caught in some wierd stockholm syndrome
I get paranoid because he has his friends show up at place where i go
and I'm used to it. He thinks it shows he cares. Its wierd I don't know how he does it.
But it makes it hard for me to be with anyone in real because I feel like he will hurt me if I do.

how many times have you asked him to stop and leave you alone?

Don't take any of his "gifts", hang up the phone when he or his friends call, and try to be unavailable to him a much as you can.

I think one of the steps you can try to do is go to the police and see if there is some steps you can take to get him to stop or ways to protect yourself.

police can be of service, true.
defending one's self by taking action into your own hands
that's probably were things are more effective

    That made me laugh.

Seriously, restraining order of some kind, even though he isn't physically near you, he is still around in some capacity.

true, but depending on what action she decides to take, he may or may not become more aggressive and violent. Finding what laws are in your area can help with decisions that you can make if you have to go a legal rout.

Search and use all options to try to get this guy to stop- if you really want him to stop- including beating the shit out of him (if that is the route you want to take)
  • I personally wouldn't recommend physical violence. that won't solve it. it never solves anything. if anything, it will make it worse for your and/or the person who does it.

be honest: are you being an enabler? I know you've said you've asked him to stop, but there are ways, as someone else mentioned, to just cut him out completely if you really want to. changing your phone number is one option. block his friends' numbers from even ringing at your house.

how are his friends able to find where you are? are you posting these personal details on facebook or twitter or something? make your profile private enough that people who aren't your "friends" can't see your status updates. are any of your friends maybe giving out information that they shouldn't?

make it clear to him that if he doesn't stop you'll have a conversation with his wife. do you have any physical proof, like a letter or an email from him, or is it all just verbal? what kind of "friends" are these that he has that are calling you for their married friend and stalking you for him? how bizarre. sounds like a pack of loonies.
