If you're familiar w/ AMT, then the responses you've received have not suprised you.
"If Beck says Chavez is bad, then Chavez must be good."- that's the kind of idiocy that prevails on this site.

Chavez is one of the rising stars of totalitarian dictators, and most of these plebe's don't even know wtf you're talking about.

I could care less about team america being unleashed, the people there can fight their own battles.
I really wish America would wise up and realize that if you just made it easy for those to come here who want democracy instead of trying to force it on those who may not, it is beneficial for the entire world. Too much fear of a different way of life I guess, I just don't know where it comes from.
I realize that chavez isn't as evil as people say he is, but I am inclined to believe he will not relinquish any of the power he gained any time soon. I don't know of too many others that turned down that kind of power...hopefully he does some good for his people.

In 1977, Chávez's unit was transferred to Anzoátegui, where they were involved in battling the Marxist-Hoxhaist insurgency group, the Red Flag Party. However, after intervening to prevent the beating and torture of a captured insurgent by other army officers, Chávez began to have his doubts about the army, later commenting that "That really affected me and I said to myself, 'Well, what kind of an army is this that tortures these men?'."[27] At the same time, he was becoming increasingly critical of the corruption in both the army and in the civilian government, coming to believe that despite the wealth being produced by the country's oil reserves, Venezuela's poor masses were not receiving their share, and he began asking himself "What kind of a democracy is this that enriches a minority and impoverishes a majority?". In doing so, he began to sympathise with the Red Flag Party and their cause.[28] However, he took issue with the Red Flag Party's use of indiscriminate violence and believed that there was insufficient revolutionary fervour in Venezuela to allow them to ever succeed: "I said to myself, 'I am neither in favor of torturing these farmers because they might be guerillas nor the guerillas massacring those soldiers who were innocent guys doing their jobs'."[29]

In a June 2010 interview with the Stephen Sackur on the BBC programme HARDtalk, Chávez said that when he had come to office he had been "gullible", and believed that a "Third Way", a sort of "Rhenish capitalism" – capitalism with a human face - was possible. But he then realised that he was wrong – "democracy is impossible in a capitalist system. Capitalism is the realm of injustice and a tyranny of the richest against the poorest. Rousseau said, 'Between the powerful and the weak all freedom is oppressed. Only the rule of law sets you free.' That's why the only way to save the world is through socialism, a democratic socialism."[80] On democracy, Chávez said that democracy wasn't just turning up to vote every five or four years – "it's much more than that, it's a way of life, it's giving power to the people ... it is not the government of the rich over the people, which what's happening in almost all the so-called democratic Western capitalist countries."[80]

Well I'm from Venezuela, I lived all his raise to the power, until April 2004 when i came to this country, 95% of my family live in there, all I can say is that Chavez is a constitutional dictator, every single move made by him was/is towards the acquisition of absolute power in the country, he controls the press, TV, and now he wants to control the internet, the poor is poorer than before, the middle class is almost nonexistent, and the new upper class is filled with people in his administration, the corruption is rampant and there's NO legal system, every single crime remains unpunished, except the people who say something against the government, they are considered criminals and receive higher sentences than murderers.

Anyway, comparing Chavez to Obama is basically impossible, but not because Obama is the total opposite of Chavez but because is not possible, Obama has to deal with a structure of government nonexistent in Venezuela, it is a totally different subject if you does a good or bad work with what he has.

And Sean Penn is just a misguided guy blinded by the lies of Chavez, I'm pretty sure that he did roamed the streets of Caracas by himself.

I've said nothing of the kind to you here, yet you cower in cyberspace, nervously mumbling about your anticipation of some ranting attack... man, up byrnard. ARQ had some good insight. I'm not cowering, I'm not nervous, and I'm nowhere near my Mum's house, which doesn't have a basement in it. Still, nice try.

You have to be there to understand how, Venezuela is not Swiss  , people from the first world nations or half civilized nations will never understand how deep corruption runs in the 3rd world nations, you can get a driving license without even knowing how to drive, you can get into the social security system just by paying a fee, you can become a legal citizen and start voting right away in any election just by paying the proper functionary, the level of corruption is something you can't even imagine, any movie about corrupt cops or politicians here on the USA is a joke, imagine a country run just like a Saturday Night Live sketch is sooo sad that is funny.

In other words Venezuela is a lawless country, and Chavez is the higher ranking thug.

It is a shame that you don't speak Spanish, I could send you video of Chavez making laws on the spot and stealing lands like nobodies business. You only see what they show you in the news, but a little search on youtube could give you a broader view of what happens in Venezuela, i don't know if there are videos of him with translated, but i could help you if you if you have any questions and/or if you want to translate something I'm here to help.

The only Venezuelans I've heard complaining and talking about corruption e.t.c, are wealthy Venezuelans - like those who can afford to move to other countries - who are upset at having been made to give up some of their toys.
