It's going to be a shit show down there with the Yankees in town, but at least tomorrow night should be dead.
Maybe. I couldn't give away my Sox/Yanks tix for Saturday. Empty seats and wasted money. Argh!

Good point, I heard they were going to $13.50 on Stubhub last night... all the same, driving down there & parking won't be an option (at least parking nearby) for tonight.

At least tomorrow night I should be able to grab a meter.

  • Saw them last night, was on rail in front of Benson and Fertita. It was like a religious experience. Those five guys were LOCKED IN all night long. An epic rendition of Blue Veins, the songs from the new album were great (highlights were Only Son and Sunday Driver) and Carolina Drama into Steady As She Goes to end blew the roof off the place. You must see this band if they are coming anywhere near you.

Blue Veins is awesome live. It's so Zep.

The highlight from DC for me was when they played Don't Bother Me, with a very long Gloria right in the middle.

I will say this much. I have never seen a great show at House of Blues Boston. As much as I despised Lyons Group, Axis and Avalon were much better places to catch rock shows than HOB.

If you took took last night's show and teleported it to Avalon or, say, The Sinclair or even both night's shows and teleported them to Agganis, I'd rate it a 9 or 10. I've seen so many of my favorite acts at HOB, and the overall vibe of that place just drags them down for me. Sounds good in there, though.

I'm still waiting for last night's poster to hit the site, but just in case anyone else is looking, here's where a lot of the Rasc 2019 posters are for sale: https://thesilentgiants.bigcartel.com/category/gig-posters.

Edit: I was going to buy one and the GID shirt at the show, but the HOB staff were dicks about it. I was in the mezz, and the merch was downstairs. Meanwhile, there are multiple bars on every floor. The House always wins.

Nail on the head, man... I despise every second of that venue, and struggle to enjoy myself there. Avalon was the SHIT. I saw so many great acts there over the years, I miss that place & those days.

Last night was a fun show, but HOB sucks all enjoyment out of it.

I have floor tickets tonight, I'm going to head in at 9 on the button, and will be out the door for the first notes of Steady As She Goes (if not sooner). I love that song, but don't want to be stuck waiting for everyone to get their cell phones unlocked on the way out. The less time spent in that shit hole the better.

There were lots of Pearl Jam shirts yesterday. I wore my 2016 Fenway setlist shit, but I saw an Eddie Vedder shirt, a 2019 10C shirt, a 2016 Boston beans Fenway shirt, and a few more.

Speaking of shirts, @Merkin Baller , if you hit the merch table and have some extra coin, I would reimburse you for the GID shirt. I could even throw in some Sox tickets for next Wednesday's game vs. the SF Giants. The kids' hockey schedules have totally fucked my late-summer Fenway fun.

I hate those kinds of places , the Hammerstein ballroom is really a great place to see a show , Kings Theatre Saturday night was amazing the decor was stunning really cool place I bet tripping to a show there must be pretty cool...

  • Boston Night 2 was amazing. My N1 experience was lousy as my view was obstructed for much of the night, so it’s hard for me to say if N2 was a better show or just a better experience for me.
It was a fantastic show start to finish, high energy, little to no down time between songs, this band is a wagon right now. Also: Jack White is one of the greatest performers I’ve ever seen in my life. The guy’s a f’n phenom.

sorry @dankind, I looked for the GID shirt, but didn’t see it.

I grabbed one of each poster, and while I haven’t unrolled them since getting home, they looked REALLY impressive at the stand. I’m looking forward to taking these out, and maybe getting them framed side by side for my office. It was a nice surprise to see the Monday night poster on sale last night as well.... as mentioned, if you were on an upper level Monday, you had to request a staff escort to the merch stand on the floor. F that, I want to be as far away from all HOB staff as possible.

  • I got the Nashville Hatch poster off ebay for $90.  $20 at show but only 120 printed.  Sold out when I was about 10 people back from line.

Funny story....the merch line was fucked up at the Ryman.  They put merch upstairs so we were all lined up the stairway to form the line.  Problem was it was a split staircase so some people were going up the other stairs and then cutting in line up top.  We were talking to this guy who was behind us on the stairs and he kept saying that he didn't want a poster, just a shirt, etc.  I think he was trying to get people to let him in front of them.  At some point he disappeared.  About 30 minutes later I watched that fucker buy the last hatch poster....we stood there and watched him.  He then did the walk of shame to get by us because my wife was getting in his face about cutting in line.  What a dick.
