I think "Rats" proves that Jeff is an awesome bassist.
    One thing, WMA.

Woo hoo Jeff!! I thought he did amazingly well too. Matt was no slouch either! Those are some big shoes to fill. Entwistle and Moon were my favorite rhythm section so I think the PJ guys deserve huge applause!

does VH1 release DVDs of their rock honors programs? i have no idea. i would love to be able to get an official copy of this. :)

i am also completely interested in the foos and incubus and their interpretations. i LOVE well done covers. i've aid it elsewhere, but i think i enjoy the who much more covered by another band. haha. amazing how many songs i adore, especially when performed by pearl jam.

    jeff OWNS!
no, not in comparison to entwhistle, you can't replace the originator, but he just soooo SHINES! makes me happy.

    i love my bass players.

John Paul Jones + John Bonham > Keith Moon + John Entwistle
(Someone had to bring up Zep vs the Who)

But yeah Jeff blew the roof off of that bass line. He was really good, I was really interested to hear how he would play it, and he nailed it.

Disagree - but to each his/her own. I'd rather have the sloppiness, fire and thunder of The Who.

Being a bass player for over 15 years, I can tell you with complete certainty that this is the first time EVER that I've heard ANYONE refer to John Entwistle's playing as sloppy.

Jeff rocked the hell out of The Real Me, and Ed absolutely killed Love Reign O'er Me...

I had goosebumps watching Ed nail it, and then was knocked on my ass by Jeff a song later...

Finally, Jeff gets the attention he deserves! What a steller performance last night, and I thought "The Real Me" outdid "Reign" performance wise. He really covered that bassline flawlessly!
  • He rocked the hell out of this performance! Does anyone know where I might be able to find an mp3 of it?
