to me they are located on the top level, right at the back?condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
He says dress circle. Then he says 4th row. Then he says Row Q.
Hence, wtf...0 -
He/She thinks (or is trying to fool people) that the Palais is like the State Theatre in Sydney - 3 levels. So he's saying they are 4th row top level - which they aren't because the dress circle is behind the lounge like the Enmore in Sydney.
Scary thing is people were bidding on this before the public sale had even started this morning???0 -
Yikes, well people will get a shock rocking up to this gig thinking they are 4th row from the stage, only to be up the back... the guy isnt very clear with his answers either when people are asking him questions.0

Te sad thing is it will be up again, maybe under a different username. If only ticket agencies and eBay actually gave a crap they should cancel his, and anyone selling above face, tickets and re-sell them. But sadly they don't really care how much they are selling for, all they care about is if the description is accurate.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
I'm not overly worried that some tickets end up on ebay - at least the market sets the price then and there is always the chance to get tickets below ticket price - and I have. There will always be the people who bought a couple of extras for their mates only to find they don't want them or don't come up with the cash and they're stuck with a couple. I got stuck with a couple of Faith No More Tickets in the 90s because of people changinmg their minds. For that Ebay is the perfect solution for that person and probably the purchaser. If someone is silly enough to pay three or four times the face value, then you can't really blame an ebay seller, esp if the auction started at 99c.
What sucks is the deliverate purchasing of banks of tickets in order to sell on ebay and the dishonesty of the selling in misrepresenting the location of the tickets.Post edited by Paul Andrews on0 -

Oh yeah I have no problem with people selling tickets on eBay for face value or less. It's just the auctions, like the one for Adelaide(at "the Barton") now that had 6 tickets in the first two rows for $300 each.
Like the dude doesn't even know the name of the venue, he's in it to make a cool 2 grand from a $600 investment.
Those are the auctions that should be shut down.condescending and sarcastic since 19800 -
I don't mind tickets going for insane prices if they started at 99c. Like I said, if the market is prepared to pay that price then so beit. But when someone puts a buy now up for three time face value, that sucks. Esp when they have a heap to sell.
But I'm just an arsehole with an opinion and we all got both of them

I sent him a question pretty much saying that it's row 16 from the front of the 2nd level. Not row 4 from the front. Said it in a nice way. It got published under the sale so it probably forced him to pull it. I don't mind Ebay tickets, supply and demand is a real thing, and really the percentage sold on Ebay against the percentage bought is pretty low. I just don't like people being misled, especially when it comes to EV or PJ. Just be up front about it and let people pay what they think it's worth. Don't be deceiving.0

...but when tix go up on ebay ON THE DAY OF SALE it's fishy as fuck and not cool for the hundreds of people looking to buy seats for themselves. Yeah some people will buy scalper tickets at scalper prices (starting at 99c  ) but if something can slow this process from becoming the norm I'm all for it!0 -
Yep... Maybe if they beat us more in the future I'll stop telling people Google is the best place to look for updated Pearl Jam news. Which, at this point, is true.TroubledSoul wrote:Rubysdad wrote:We are pleased to report to the Ten Clubbers first...

hey, tickets went so fast i couldn't grab one ..
so if anyone has a spare or knows someone who does - no matter where in oz - i'll be very happy to take it
thanks0 -
Fair enough, but sometimes it's a bit of an artificial market. I always buy more tickets than I need to the really hot shows (well, not for EV!) because I know my friends will go, or if not I'll find someone else who wants it at face value. Failing that, I might use trademe (NZ ebay) but I'll always put a buy now that just covers my costs. Why start at 99c, you know it's going to get to scalping prices. The 99c start price is just a way to justify it as "market forces". Why add to the problem? If your friends pull out, why profit from that? Why not help another fan out?Paul Andrews wrote:I don't mind tickets going for insane prices if they started at 99c. Like I said, if the market is prepared to pay that price then so beit. The only danger is that the person buying for face value is just going to flip it, so I usually try and sell it pretty close to the event, or do pickup/dropoff at the show. Another idea I've toyed with is "scalping" it, but only getting the guy to pay face value once the auction finishes. That way someone who wanted it bad enough to pay big money for it gets the ticket, but they don't get ripped off.0 -
