Had tix to that MMJ @ the Greek & sold em like a damn idiot to save $$, but ended going out that night anyway. Dumb.
I too tried to cutback on costs during the summer, so for shows at the Greek theatre, I entered a few Filter Magazine contests.
I was hoping to go the the Eels, but it was too close to the October tax deadline, and it fell around the same time as TFC, Fran Healy & James. My wife went to like 6 shows in 7 nights around that time!

Wanted to go to the LA one, too, but couldn't let my$elf do it for obviou$ rea$on$.

Yep, Filter Magazine.com seems to get a lot of tickets for shows that aren't selling too well! Anytime you see a show selling for a huge discount on Goldstar Events, the odds are that Filter has some to give away, and that there are bargains on stubhub to be had as well!

You are welcome. In this day and age, waiting until the last minute makes sense for many many shows!
Damn. Helluva year. Agreed on Muse 1 billion percent. Probably were at a couple of the same shows, Teenage Fanclub, BoH.
It was a good year for gigs. We even tried to cut down on the number of school night gigs, but the list was still huge!
IMHO, Muse is a mundane band, but 50 Million Elvis fans can't be wrong, can they?
MUSE used to be worth seeing. but it seems theyve just got bigger and not better.
saw LINKIN PARK last night for my final touring band of the year. i hadnt seen them for a few years and i have to say they were as great as i remember them. our seats werent as bad as i was thinking theyd be.... which always helps to feel connected.

2. Band of Horses: opened for PJ 4 times
3. The Black Keys (opened for PJ (wish it were the 4 times instead of BOH) WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM IN CHICAGO IF ANYONE HAS ANY EXTRA TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
4. Chris Isaak
5. O.C Supertones
6. Zac Brown Band (listened from parking lot)
7. Weezer (listened only)
8. Rascal Flatts
9. Tyrone Wells
10. Gary Allan (with two lesser known country openers)
11. Sir Paul McCartney (not a HUGE fan, but c'mon it's a Beatle!)
I would have loved to have seen Them Crooked Vultures and would love to have seen the Black Keys more than just the opener for PJ.
I actually remembered one as I typed this!
Formerly Brew Crew Tix “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.

I was really impressed with Stevie. Her vocals still sound like it's 1977. The Santa Barbara Bowl is a great venue, too. I think Fleetwood Mac is touring in 2011.
Ratt was great. I was in 'Hair Metal Heaven' for their West Hollywood show at the Key Club. I'm 36 years old, so I grew up with bands like Ratt. It was actually their "Infestation" release party and I had a meet & greet pass after the show with about twenty other fans. I took tons of pics and have a good one of Pearcy and me. I also met famed Dokken and Lynch Mob guitarist, George Lynch, who was backstage after the show to say hello to the band. The setlist was 20 songs and they played several songs from Infestation. The last song was Round and Round, but not quite 20 minutes long! I saw Ratt open for the Scorpions later in the summer and they performed around four or so Infestation songs.

And I thought my 2010 resume was diverse. From Tool to John Mayer - you had it going on! I can't top that.
