  • Thought I had my March sorted but... Fuck Me... ended up with row U for Adelaide 2..
Who saw that extra show coming??? :(

Inside is better than out I guess... but this ended up a HUGE tour for solo Ed and still no Perth or NZ. I know it's bitching but hows about a big spread out tour that doesn't add shows to the list at the drop of a hat?

My heart goes out to those who understandably can't afford the travel expense and miss out, or fans who just plain miss out.

Its really sad for us :( most of us in NZ cant afford to go to Australia, its just too much money, and I'm only 17 so I cant really fly to Aussie on my own. Its just pretty upsetting for me, in March australia also gets Soundwave with two of my fave artists Slash and Queens of the stone age. And none of them are coming over here. :(
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!

I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is! :D

I had my fingers crossed for a NZ show too (and it is still on my wishlist!), though i was lucky enough to get tickets to sydney 1 but after including the cost of flights there was no way i could afford additional shows. I feel for the fans who have missed out completely.
    PJ - Auckland NZ 27.11.10, EV - Sydney 18.3.11 & 20.3.11

Jetstar had cheap flights I think they were $139 from auck to melb...

Theres a few Tasmanians that trek to the mainland to see PJ shows and the upcoming
    EV solo shows....

I did work out it a while back I think the 09 tour I did 4 shows cost me
about 5.5k with airfares tickets and accomm..that was without airport transfers, rent a car
food, merch and other bits and pieces....also lost wages because I didnt get holiday pay back then..

Just a thought to all you kiwiers complaining about prices

Consider us expat fans in Europe - at least you get to go.

The word gutted, preceded by at least 10 expletives does not even come close to how pissed i am.

I'm a kiwi and I'm not going because it's too expensive. So I may as well be an ex pat in the UK for all the good it does being "so close".

Okay but its not like $2,000 just for a return plane ticket expensive, but I do take your point

We're the people who can't afford to travel outside of our countries to see music. That's our lot in life.

In many respects the West coast of Australia is largely the same - we're thousands of miles from the East coast. Living 300kms from the capital (Perth) makes where I life even slower. A few years ago, when Mudhoney played the local Dunsborough Tavern to about 150 people, it was such an amazing surprise it made up for it all.

We miss out on lots of shows, but that's the price for living in paradise. There are so many other great things about living here, the disappointment of missing out on shows or having to travel to see shows and pay a hefty price is quickly forgotten.

I'm sure you feel the same about NZ.

But we dont get to go. Alot of us cant afford it. Its just more painfull because he is going to be close to us, not so close that we can just 'hop the ditch' and see him but close enough that he could come do a show here because lets face it, I'm sure eddie has more money than any of us, and the promoters. Its just hard, when bands I love tour the USA or UK it dosent bother me cause its like a whole world away, its just a pain when a 'down under tour' is just in Australia :(
I feel for the Perth fans too

  • gotta say this......

Eddie Vedder is a very special human being. Obviously.

Go see him in concert if you want to see the best concert you've ever seen....heard.

And..... don't know the facts behind any of the West Memphis 3 but what Eddie Vedder is doing regarding that is very, very admirable. THAT is a fact.
    Dolor es.....?
  • Can anyone tell me what they think Eddie's set will be like? Will it consist mainly of Into the Wild soundtrack? What was his set list like for previous solo concerts? So excited to be going and hear Eddie can't wait til March.

So the most important question – What will the merch be like?
I hope it differs from the 2009 stuff. And is a bit more lady friendly.
