he is pretty narcicisstic. he needs some meds and therapy. can't you see how he is reaching out for attention?

I'm not a big Taylor Swift fan but that was soooooo rude! She should ram her guitar up his butt!

He seems like the type of guy that ends up in prison or a straight jacket...he sounds like he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

    Godfather.
  • Wow.. We got Godfather, President Obama and gimme agreeing on something!

I can't believe he's angry that she didn't come to his defense. I'm not a big Taylor Swift fan by any stretch of the imagination, but she seems like a decent person, writes innocent pop songs... Kanye was just a jackass. He's talented, but he's a dick.

  • ultimately im interested in the art. if kanye is secretly a serial killer in his spare time, that doesnt change the fact he had created some of the most compelling and important hip hop and pop music of the 2000's. The new album will top critics best albums of 2010 lists.

kanye was played on that today show interview. matt lauer was unprofessional. lauer interviewed bush the day before, and he sure as hell didnt tell bush to watch tapes of hurricane katrina victims and look into their eyes. he didnt roll tape of the war in iraq and american soldiers under fire, he wasnt told to look into their eyes.

lauer is a jerk. you dont treat a guest that way.

ultimately, art has altered and chnaged my life, and saved it multiple times. i dont stay up at night wondering or caring whether dylan is a molestor, or whether john lennon hated gays, or whether jay-z cheats on beyonce. i dont think about it, because i am fans of these peoples art. and cherish it. what they are like in real life has no real importance.

Van Gogh was messed up, but does that lessen his art?
  • we also have no cause to judge kanye. we are on the board of a band who were quite open in the fact that their being the biggest band in the world at one point was extremely tough. Ed has imtimated he was headed the same direction as kurt, and that it was just dumb luck that he survived and that kurt died.

We dont know what it feels like to be kanye. He's a massive star, and to say that even is lessening of the impact and popularity and profile of someone like kanye.

if we ignore the nonsense on the sidelines, because thats what it is. I mean, do you all really care about the taylor swift incident over a year later, even after taylor has forgiven him and moved on? Do you all really care about these incidents, that are only harped on to increase ratings and to get readers to a blog.

the new album is art. its a stunnng achievement in hip hop and music.
  • its sad to think someone could hear a song like blame game and not hear the beauty and gorgeous and haunting quality to it, a real beatiful song, and instead think of kanye the person and not give it a fair chance or judge him.

It's a good album. I can absolutely separate the art from the artist. The fact that just the other day he said he doesn't regret doing what he did and is upset that taylor didn't defend him... Come on? He makes it really difficult to SUPPORT him.

    Kanye who :lol::lol:
jesus greets me looks just like me ....
  • with kanye, as with people like kobe or jordan or tiger, they clearly view themselves as messiah's. As people who are the greatest. But as with all of them, they arent just talk. Kobe is full of himself, but can back it up with his championship wins and him scoring 81 points in a game.

Kanye call call himself god for all i care. he can call himself whatever. the point is, he backs it up. Hip hop is often maligned on this board, and even those of us who are fans, like myself, wonder where good hip hop has gone in 2010, in the 2000's.

Kanye pushes the art form, whether thats the hip hop, or music is general, forward. He's creates masterpiece after masterpiece. He's willing to make sounds on albums that challenge listeners. Blame Game I mentioned previously, the manipulation of the vocals is on another level. its psychotic.

All i know is that i love art. And I also know that the musicians, artists, writers, actors, directors, painters, that i respect and love, I know that some of them are deeply, majorly flawed and conflicted and complicated people. which honestly makes their art all the more powerful and inspiring.

Art is art. Kanye created a masterpiece, one of the best hip hop records in years. its impact will be felt for years...

Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth,
    You’re an idiot, babe.

when you depend on the fans to earn your living you had better act in a appropriate manor they can make or break a career and there have been many examples of that, he's taking his fan base for granted and acting like a idiot.

you do tho, if you have any integrity. that's the problem with journalism in america. talking heads don't question anything, they do what they are told and people are led to believe lies. see the buildup to the iraq war....

he can call himself god because he made a good album? that's the oddest justification for deification I've ever heard.

did you see him get "punked" by kutcher before he was famous. He was an ass long before he was famous.

Genius is thrown around too much with him too. imo there seems to be a million rappers better than him out there....

Next up: the Super Bowl halftime show, where he will follow in the illustrious footsteps of badasses like the Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, Kid Rock, and N*Sync lol

I like hip hop and even I can't stand Kanye and his music.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Hey Cajun, you forgot to add the current Rolling Stones lineup in your Super Bowl list of infamy!

Oof... I used to really like the Stones, too. A part of me died that day (though not as big a chunk as the part that died when they appeared on a soap opera :o )
