I'll eat dog food for a week if EV does a solo show at the Big Day Out festival.

    :)

Would you realllllly? Tinned or dry?

The tinned one we give them smells quite yummy, it has chicken, rice and vegies in it. So I'd probably try that one.

In a totally different context .... but still, exactly what I was discussing earlier on today. Damn.

Yeah it's called pattern thinking based on previously observed patterns. aka 'experience'

It started off like this : should I assess the facts and try and figure out the truth or should I prove my point ? We quarreled over this . As it turns out, experience may have been misleading today...

Sorry myra, second time in a week I was referring to the person above you! Pattern thinking is what makes us human. That is the basis by which we pick up language in our formative years. Nothing to be scared of, just needs to be balanced against independently verifiable facts ;)

I don't know what the tweet means, but the consensus speculation doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me. Someone did a thread compiling previous tweets and what they turned out to mean recently. Maybe they should dig that out again!

ps, the 'experience' bit I was referring to relates to whether this is a tour announcement, not when the announcement will be made

He will not play BDO, and Bluesfest i think is out of the question as well. Too late.

Definitely not Big Day Out.. that would totally be the wrong environment for an EV solo show.

Why too late for Bluesfest? It's not until April next year and there is still a second artist announcement to come. And Ben is playing next year. :)

trust me on this one ;)
if it was bluesfest, then he would have been a first announcement artist. I know they have added big artists late before, but have a look at the schedule already...
    2003 - Sydney x3,
    2006 - Reading Festival,
2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,
    2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,
    2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,
2010 - I watched it go to fire!
    2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,
    2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,
    2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

Bluesfest tend to have strong 2nd announcements, say unlike the BDO. Bluesfest never sells out completely every day, especially now at the larger venue, and they stagger big announcements to help drive ticket sales from now until April. The schedule for Thursday and Saturday is still light on. The next announcement will have a headliner for one or both of those nights. Although I don't think it will be Ed. We are all convinced he is a BIG artist but Ed solo is not a 'big headline' act. Disagree with me if you will but it would be the same for BDO. He would be a big name, but not the big headliner. Ed being announced in the 2nd line-up would not be a strange thing. Massive hypothetical though. For me it's the fact that Ben is there with R7 and FOM which would make it happen. Ben has a close working relationship with Peter Noble and if Ben was going to tell Ed to come anywhere for a solo gig, Bluesfest is the place. It's like Ben's second home.

What if this whole thing is a Christmas sale similar to last year (I think it was members only?). That would cover the need for address info and updated membership

    Bluesfest isn't strictly blues music.

And PJ played at New Orleans Jazzfest did they not?

Here is the Bluesfest lineup so far..

also folks, if it were going to be a festival announcment 10C wouldn't get dibs on tickets (at least that has been the pattern ;) )
