Yes that is correct bout the letter of medical necessity, but going from $5,000 pre-tax funds to $2,500 for one year or $230 per month to roughly $100 per month for transit pre-tax funds is a big deal. And yes there are aspects of the reform which extend coverage, but some of these were actually already laws in some states (like NY). It's not all bad, but this aspect is not good, and when you think about what actually could have been accomplished, the resulting "reform" is a mockery to us all. Incremental change works in the face of defiance or battle, the only trouble in this battle was the Dems and Obama had no backbone to get it done.

Yeah - I guess I jumped the gun a little, I guess the "it's really stupid" response sounded like most anti obama responses when they are given facts/solutions..... you'll have to excuse me. 8-)

As far as the tax, I think it is reimbursed with a prescription or letter of medical necessity....Also, thanks to the reform, people with the flex spending accounts can keep there kids on these plans up to the age of 26 and not only that, but the reform allows for people to pay for medical expenses for their children regardless of tax dependency status. Not bad....

The other things I get OTC medicine so i do not have to go to the doctor. I think that was pretty stupid now if I need some cold medicine or allergy medicine I have to go to the doctor first, if I continue to use a FSA. That is pretty stupid too.
