How long is a piece of string?

is that one of those riddles that has no answer like if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around does it make a sound?

No. There is an answer and it does make sense when you hear it.

    There is a terrible accident.
The accident victim is taken to the closest trauma center.
The emergency room doctors decide that surgery is an immediate necessity.
The surgeon is summoned to the ED for an evaluation.
As the surgeon begins to examine the patient, the surgeon exclaims:

"I cannot possibly operate on this patient!
You know policy states that we cannot treat our own relatives."

ED Dr. asks, "but Doctor, how is this patient related to you?"

    The surgeon explains:

"Brothers and sisters have I none.
But that man's father is my father's son!"

How is the patient related to the surgeon?
    peace,

A young boy and his father were out playing football when they were caught at the bottom of a giant pileup. Both were injured and rushed to the hospital. They were wheeled into separate operating rooms and two doctors prepped up to work on them, one doctor for each patient. The doctor operating on the father got started right away, but the doctor assigned to the young boy stared at him in surprise. "I can´t operate on him!" the doctor exclaimed to the staff. "That child is my son!"

    How can that be?

    They have FEMALE doctors now?!
    Kidding!

The more you take, the more you leave behind. What are they?
    (PJ related answer, no less!)

That isn't the answer I was looking for,
    so NO.
    On the other hand,
your answer does kinda make sense.
Mad props for the laterally legitimate answer, yo!

Has anyone ever heard of " the Chicken, the Fox, and The sack of Feed?

A farmer is standing on one bank of a river, with a fox, a chicken, and a bag of feed. He needs to get to the other side of the river, taking the fox, the chicken, and the feed with him.

However, the boat used to cross the river is only large enough to carry the farmer and one of the things he needs to take with him, so he will need to make several trips in order to get everything across.

In addition, he cannot leave the fox unattended with the chicken, or else the fox will eat the chicken; and he cannot leave the chicken unattended with the feed, or else the chicken will eat the feed. The fox is not particularly partial to feed, and may be left alone with it.

How can he get everything across the river without anything being eaten?

    Cheers.
