Not defending the actions of this person, but he actually did not step on her head. I guess that's a way of making it sound worse than it is.

Let's face it, this was a deplorable act by one person who in know way represents what Rand Paul would have done. I'm sure Paul is just sickened this happened.

Right. Anyone saying that the Tea Party as a whole is like this one individual must think all Muslims want to fly planes into skyscrapers.

i wonder if OnTheEdge thinks all Tea Party Members are nut jobs because of the actions of the individual this thread is dedicated to.

because i just read a thread where he said he gets nervous flying on planes if a muslim is on there.

    for serious.

oh i dunno, maybe look at their agressive behavior with distupting the health care town hall meetings. talking loudly, shouting and confronting elected officials and people that they disagree with is intimidation and is aggressive behavior is it not?
Speaking loud because you want to be heard is not agressive behavior...Confronting elected officials is not violent.....How many town hall meetings did this happen to ...maybe a handful.........
.but getting beat up by SEIU members for selling "Don't Tread On Me Pins" is pretty violent. Agree?

please refer to the definition of aggression-
    http://social.jrank.org/pages/25/Aggres ... ition.html

Aggression is defined as behavior aimed at causing harm or pain, psychological harm, or personal injury or physical distraction. An important aspect of aggressive behavior is the intention underlying the actor's behavior. Not all behaviors resulting in harm are considered aggression. For example, a doctor who makes an injection that harms people, but who did so with the intent of preventing the further spread of illness, is not considered to have committed an aggressive act.

Aggression can be direct or indirect, active or passive, and physical or verbal. Using these categories, human aggression can be grouped into eight classes of behavior:

Punching the victim (direct, active, physical)
Insulting the victim (direct, active, verbal)
Performing a practical joke, setting a booby trap (direct, passive, physical)
Spreading malicious gossip (direct, passive, verbal)
Obstructing passage, participating in a sit-in (indirect, active, physical)
Refusing to speak (indirect, active, verbal)
Refusing to perform a necessary task (indirect, passive, physical)
Direct aggression, especially physically active aggression, is more common among animals. Actors who express indirect aggression usually feel less satisfaction, but they are also less concerned about retaliation. Passive and indirect aggression is the least noxious form. Subordinates rebelling against authority figures often use it. In the family relation it is often used by children against their parents.

there is plenty of this on both sides, more so from the tea party at these events. and aerial, more than "a few" town halls were interrupted by these people. when you have some time, do a google search for the proof that you are bound to ask me for....

Washington Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Anti-Rossi Protester

A 72-year-old man was arrested two weeks ago for allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old activist protesting Dino Rossi's Republican campaign for Senate in Washington state, according to local reports.

The incident occurred outside GOP headquarters in Walla Walla County where the demonstrator, Christie Stordeur, was "one of five protesters standing about 40 feet from the entrance of the office," according to the Tri-City Herald.

Stordeur and the other protesters "were wearing bags over their heads and holding a sign that looked like a check." That's when Victor Phillips, according to a Sheriff's deputy on scene, walked over to Stordeur to "lift her bag off her head." When Stordeur "lifted her arm in defense," Phillips hit it "with 'force.'"

The Herald reports that the deputy on scene "immediately stepped between the two and arrested Phillips on a charge of investigation of assault."

Phillips' explanation, as recounted in a police report filed after the arrest and obtained by the Herald: "Phillips said he wanted to get a picture of the protesters."

The paper reports that it remains "uncertain" if Rossi, who is locked in a close race with Sen. Patty Murray (D), "was present at the time of the incident."

The TPM Poll Average shows Murray ahead 49.3-45.8.

Correction: This post originally said the incident occurred yesterday. The assault actually occurred on October 15. We regret the error.
