They are already here. This administration doesn't do anything about it because they don't want to offend their voting base.

we need to put some real teeth into the laws already on the books against identity fraud and hiring illegal immigrants. Bankrupt a few companies and throw some CEOs in jail and you might just get some attention.

Good point arthurdent and Godfather. I hate it when people say "illegals are taking our jobs." No they aren't. They are being given American jobs by American business owners who do not want to pay higher salaries, health coverage, or taxes.

Thanks. If possible, see what Phil Knight said about sending his jobs overseas in Michael Moore's The Big One. To paraphrase, Knight said that Americans don't want those jobs, with those jobs being the factory jobs. Meanhwile, Moore was pleading with him to build a factory in Flint, and even had video of Flintonians (?) begging Knight to move a factory there. Fuck Phil Knight; Fuck Nike - the Great "American" Company. This outscourcing bull shit has to stop, as does the bull shit practice of giving illegals jobs. If AMERICANS didn't give them the jobs, they wouldn't be coming over the border in droves.

Deportation of illegal immigrants increases under Obama administration

In a bid to remake the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the Obama administration is deporting record numbers of illegal immigrants and auditing hundreds of businesses that blithely hire undocumented workers.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency expects to deport about 400,000 people this fiscal year, nearly 10 percent above the Bush administration's 2008 total and 25 percent more than were deported in 2007. The pace of company audits has roughly quadrupled since President George W. Bush's final year in office...

Didn't Pelosi and Neapolitan both publicly say raids needed to stop?

Creativity= they know it is illegal

    Stupidity= a misinterpretation of desperation

We still have to close the borders, though. 310 million and growing.

If you read the actual article, instead of just the blurb provided, you would've noticed the sidebar that showed 21,000 illegal immigrants were deported during Obama's first year in office than were deported in Bush's last year. The 2009 number was a record, and the 2010 number is on pace to shatter the 2009 number.

As for the raids, the article also says fewer raids are being conducted under the Obama administration, but more effort is being put into auditing employers suspected of hiring illegal immigrants - they're finding those illegal immigrants by finding inconsistencies in employee documentation.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

    Yes. A few.

How much are we (Americans) to blame? Examples: American business men that hire illegals in order to avoid paying taxes, higher wages, and health insurance. American addiction to illegal drugs - not pot, but real drugs, such as cocaine.

Why is it a bad thing to be in favor of closing the border? If for nothing else, for the serious problem of overpopulation?

What is the best solution to this problem? I am looking for details here, not just "send 'em back tot Mexico" or "Patrol the border."

    that is the solution IMO.
the cartels fight and kill over drug profits if it's pot or cocaine and they're coming the US to kill and protect their business so something has to be done and closing the border is a great start.
it's obvious the Mexican government can not protect their own people or them selfs for that matter, it is a government so deeply corrupted that secretes on a bust can not be trusted to the police or higher government officials and the few that are trustworthy are killed in public by the cartels.
so yes close the borders up ASAP and patrol them with BPA's and the national guard.

we should send a US special forces unit or 2 over there and start wiping out the drug cartels and ALL it's associates and members.
