Producer and DJ Alexei has announced a November 4, 2010 release date for his latest project, Weezy's 90s Ball, Vol. 1.
The album is a remix and mashup album that pairs Lil Wayne with 90s rock hits from Nirvana, Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, and other influential acts. The release will coincide with Lil Wayne's expected release from jail at Rikers Island.

"Because Lil Wayne's flow is so melodic, it sits incredibly well on top of rock tracks," says Alexei. "And while I loved Rebirth, many fans will probably enjoy this 'rock album' a bit more because Wayne is rapping, rather than singing with the help of auto-tune."

On the album, Alexei both reinterprets old Lil Wayne hits and combines Weezy's numerous -- and, in some cases, obscure -- feature verses to create new songs. Musically, the album is divided into tracks that retain the rock sensibility of the source material and hip-hop-influenced tracks on which Alexei combines samples of 90s rock with hip-hop drums. In both cases, the resulting songs stand out in their intensity and impact.

well... when I first read this i was like wtf... its insane. But then I realized that maybe with the release of this cd, Lil Wayne will spark interest in all these great bands. This could open the eyes of the younger crouds to finally start listening to great music.

Can you imagine a life without PJ? They are all walking zombies....

It is DJ who is doing this, not Lil' Wayne, isn't it? I would prefer something faster than Betterman, this sounds like cheesy cut and paste to me, but my knowledge of remixes is nonexistent, so I am probably wrong. I like Wayne tho.

There are still Jason Bourne novels even though Ludlum's dead. It's just "Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne In..." In this case Lil' Wayne is nothing more than a "brand name" to sell shit. IIRC, isn't he sleeping single in a double bed right now??? Besides, these technically aren't even remixes. Not unless they're using the original master tapes, anyway. If pro tools can make the dead sing, it can work for those locked up in solitary too.

So some DJ takes Pearl Jam and Wayne's music, then mixes it?
    Why are we slugging Wayne?

Funny, and is it a big secret that its easier to mimic greatness than to achieve it?
In any case, I'll have to get a copy from the boys in IT..they love Lil' Wayne.
