If you won a million dollars

  • I've thought about this a good bit before. I don't see me doing things much differently than I do now though.
I would most definitely pay off the house. Give a chunk to the folks and help my best friend out a bit also.
Sit on the rest, but go to more concerts and live it up a little more than usual.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
  • put it in a bank account and enjoy an annual $20,000 simple interest bonus for the rest of my life

    Not a bad idea...

I'd pay of our car... maybe buy the camping trailer that we want, pay off my wife's school loans and then invest the rest and have a nice bonus check every month.

I'd pay some of the principal on our house, but keep some just for the tax benefit of having a mortgage.
    My whole life
    was like a picture
    of a sunny day

First pay off loan, then hop on a plane to Adelaide to see my best friend who I haven't seen in 3 years :( .
Buy a house, new car for me and BC, give some to charity, take the family on holiday... and buy some shoes ;)

Wasn't there a Barenaked Ladies song about this back in the mid-90's?

yep, that was the first thing that popped in my head.

I would pay my bills first. move out of my tiny apt. into a nice house. maybe travel to a few cities. donate money to a few animal shelters near me.

Buy a house, give some to my parents, drop a chunk of it in my sons trust account, stash the rest, keep working and not tell anyone else (esp sibling) about it.
  • $650,000? That's about 400,000 in real money ;)

    So, £400,000:

£50,000 would go to The British Hear Foundation.
£10,000 would go to the RSPCA.
£250,000 would get a lovely house that we could live in for the rest of our lives and raise a family in.
£3,000 to set my disabled brother up in a flat of his own.
£30,000 to clear joint debts (student loan, car on finance etc)
£20,000 to set up my own business at home.
    £10,000 for the wedding.
£10,000 to help out friends and family.
£17,000 for savings for our children's future.
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

My Grandma won SEVEN million dollars. Her strategy was to go from sweet lady to tight-fisted shrew. I'd probably push down beggars, orphans, lepers, and anyone with less money than me. It's the American way.

I like this idea. Although winning a million would give me cause to celebrate and reason to return to bong hits.
