Jeff Buckley is some good stuff Mr Chadwick. He may be worth a moment or two of your time just to see if it is your kind of thing. May I suggest Lover, You Should've Come Over as a place to start. He's quite good at covers ... Hallelujah and Lilac Wine both quite lovely.

    Lover, You Should've Come Over

    "Looking out the door
I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
As their shoes fill up with water

    Maybe I'm too young
To keep good love from going wrong
But tonight, you're on my mind so
    You never know

Broken down and hungry for your love
With no way to feed it
    Where are you tonight?
Child, you know how much I need it.
    Too young to hold on
And too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away,
When he feels like he should be having his fun
Much too blind to see the damage he's done
Sometimes a man must awake to find that, really,
    He has no-one...

So I'll wait for you... And I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return?
    Oh, will I ever learn?
Oh, Lover, you should've come over
    Cause it's not too late.

Lonely is the room the bed is made
The open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one
Who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a sleep
    That won't ever come
    It's never over,
My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
    It's never over,
all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her...
    It's never over,
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter...
    It's never over,
She's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever...

But maybe I'm just too young to keep good love
    From going wrong
Oh... lover you should've come over...

Yes, and I feel too young to hold on
I'm much too old to break free and run
    Too deaf, dumb, and blind
To see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love, well I'll wait for you
    Lover, you should've come over
    'Cause it's not too late."

EDIT: see I wasn't the only one to recommend Jeff

Three different movies have made me cry over the years, but never really a song. I do get emotional when I hear Off He Goes or Come Back because it makes me think of my best friend who died.

Many of those songs in that list are great songs, but they really don't make me cry. A song that always does me in is "Trouble" by Cat Stevens. Growing up in a not-so-great home environment, that song was always my anthem of sorts. Just a great song to listen to when you are overwhelmed.

not one of those songs make me cry...

    Flume- Bon Iver
Hope There's Someone- Antony & The Johnsons

now those songs can make me almost have an emotional response..

if a man cries to a song in Scotland he can technically be hung for treason.... and ironically yes, scotland did invent crying.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Good For You!
Razorblade..yep...my daughter has a poem called "Razorblade Kiss" from her younger "more" emo days, I should post that on another place here.

Anyway, good for you, anyone who can't shed a tear at Come Back, is too tough for this life.

I have to agree that none of these songs affected me in anyway. Good songs, But cry, No way!

3 Songs that will always stop me in my tracks are

    Johnny Cash "Hurt"
    PJ "The End"
PJ "Long Road" Made a tribute video for my mother with this as the theme song. Does it for everyone in the family.

Love music that has the ability to stir emotions. Good or Bad
