Lollapalooza 20th Anniversary + PJ 20th Anniversary
Just got this email the other day from Lollapalooza:
LOLLA'S TURNING 20!
HELP US BOOK THE BIG SHOW
It's hard to believe but next year marks the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza.
It's come a long way since Lolla's first lineup took the stage almost two decades ago, but the goal has stayed the same: bring the best music in the world to the best fans in the world. In that spirit, we want to hear who you'd like to see when Lolla rocks Grant Park once again August 5-7, 2011.
Over the years, you've helped us make music history along with a diverse array of artists from the Butthole Surfers to Beck, Metallica to Muse, Radiohead to Rage Against the Machine and everything in between. We're open to throwbacks from Lollas past to headliners of the future - so give us your Top 3 must-see 2011 artists by Thursday, October 7th and we'll see what we can do!.
Would be super cool to see the 20th Anniversaries of both happen!
Go vote now:

I'm really surprised the smashing pumpkins havent been back yet... they seem to like using old headliners... maybe some bad blood between billy and perry?
anyway, just looking back at the first 5 years im gonna go with:
-the smashing pumpkins
-alice in chains
-beck
likely candidates IMO
if they wanna throw in some '00s people maybe queens of the stone age
dont see them going back to PJ so soon... especially considering they havent done much since their last time there... the matching 20th anniversaries would be cool though!0 -

There needs to be a vote where "Would you like Lollapalooza to tour across America for their 20th Anniversary?" Like how they started off? Would love them to come back to Canada. First time was '96? Their last time was '97 cause of what happen @ Canada's Wonderland. If you want to do a 20th anniversary Lollapalooza thing, do it with style & travel.0

im sure its a logistical nightmare getting that many bands to travel though0 -
It would be tempting to go back there for that. I don't know if I could deal with the crowd again......Only for Pearl Jam would I even think about doing that again.Noblesville 6/22/2003 St. Louis 5/4/2010 East Troy 9/4/2011

PJ
RCHP
Jane's Addiction
Back to the origins, and you would have to think Perry Farrell should perform in some capacity for this. Just my two cents.0 -

Couple of you guys mentioned the crowd being a turnoff...... That's what I thought prior to this year. Finally buckled down and made the trip to Lolla(1st real festival for me) only time I felt like that was after Sunday night when everyone exited the same time, and that wasn't that bad IMO. They do a hell of a job keeping things moving along. I liked the fact that if I got there a few hours early I could see Soundgarden in the front rail area. It was one of best concert moments for me. The city looked beautiful all lit up, and the ocean of people behind us was impressive.
I'll be back in 2011, hopefully my friends Mike, Stone, Ed, Jeff,Matt, and Boom will join me0
