I've met so many nice people through the message board, wishlist parties, and this band has given so much to me and my spirit I'd like to jump in and give away a free 7" Unthought Known/Amongst The Waves 7" that I have. All you have to do is make a post here with your favorite song off Backspacer and why in the next 7 days and I'll randomly select someone to receive it. Entries will end on Saturday October 9th at 6 PM E.S.T.... shipping on me, totally free. This Dimitris guy has inspired us all. :lol:

I really read the whole thread and the two posts that stood out were the two that mentioned their kids and their kids singing a Backspacer song. Both good stories but the "He told me he loves Supersonic because it sounds like Eddie is saying, "I smile big cuz I'm Toothless Tim, yeah!" took the cake. So, thanks for the story and enjoy the record... give it to your son or die. :mrgreen:

    Why: It's one uplifting song! When you're so down just think of that exhilirating feeling a surfer must feel, like they're untouchable, high amogst those amazing waves! Brings good feelings, good thoughts, just a sense of peace.

    cool... great thing he started here. others have chimed in, i'm just following suit. the more people that do it, the more that will ALSO do it. when i ordered something from volcom to get this i ordered another pj item i wanted as well and ended up with two of them because i ordered two items... i figured it would be a good one to give away since you have to, basically, order a SMALL shirt OR shorts that are too small to get it now. :mrgreen:

    Favorite song on Backspacer, from the very first time I listened to the album was Just Breathe. The opening lyrics:

    Some folks just have one,
    Others they got none, aw huh,..

    It just hit me as the perfect lyrics. I've heard the song hundreds of times since then, and the lyrics still hit just as hard.

    There is an Unthought Known/Amongst the Waves 7' single out there? Wow, that totally went by my radar.

    My favorite song off that album is the Fixer. The music is mind blowing and the vocal melody is amazing.
    2nd Tier : Gonna See My Friend, Got Some, Unthought Known, Johnny Guitar, Speed of Sound, Just Breathe
    3rd Tier: Amongst the Waves, The End, Force of Nature, Supersonic
    4th Tier: Luckily none.

    because it's the song on the album that gives me goosebumps:

    (also the "nothing left" parts remind me of Vitalogy era for some reason. The song's got a bit of oldscool PJ to me.)
