  • And we wonder why they must recall vehicles! I can't wait to hear the liberals defend this. It will be classic! My only concern is whether or not they can prove the video was edited. Oh the agony of it all!!!!!!

Whats wrong with this? Have a few beers and smoke J and get back to work. So.

You think those Wall Street guys arent Coking it up and Knocking back some good Whiskey on there 3 hour (business lunch).

    Rats need to be exterminated.
  • What people do on their own time is their business. The "bailout" is also considered to be a loan. Would any of us want our mortgage company telling us how to spend our money and time because we owe them hundreds of thousands of dollars?

So you see nothing wrong with tax dollars being abused and wasted? The difference is we're not talking about a personal loan or mortgage. We're talking about tax dollars. They certainly need to be used more wisely. Anyone who even tries to argue that belongs with these dirtbags who have hijacked our country.

It would have been better to let Chrysler fail, wouldn't it? Then, those drunk assholes and the other several thousand responsible employees... and all of the people who work at Chrysler dealerships (managers, salesmen, clerical, mechanics, etc...) and all of people at the vendor companies (that make steering wheels, seats, air conditioning units, wheels, tail light assemblies, etc...) would be unemployed... collecting unemployment.
That would be what you want for other Americans.

  • I don't really care about the tax dollars here...well, I care but not for that.

But what I do care about is they all need to be fired for violating their safety policies.

I can't believe someone said they can do what they want on "their own time". They need to be fired immediately.

That's certainly not what I want for other Americans. Or other people anywhere in this world. But certain measures should have and could have been taken to prevent bailout money from being used on corrupt execs. I think we all know these measures were not taken simply because this administration is ABSOLUTELY in bed with big business. And what a dirty fucking bed that is. Despite Obama's campaigning about being some sort of "for the people" kind of guy.

I also agree with Cincy. These fools should be fired immediately. That shit shouldn't fly at any company. Bailout or no bailout.

My commentary wasn't directed at your response, it just happened to follow yours.
    ...
I agree, the INDIVIDUALS should suffer the consequences of their poor decisions. The entire Chrysler Corporation should not be held responsible for the actions of 10 assembly employees.
As for the bailouts... I understand the anger towards the execs, but there are thousands (several thousands) of honest American workers that would be affected if the company thay big were to fail. As I stated, it is not just Chrysler's manufacturing/assembly facility... there are hundreds of mid-level companies that make steering wheels and hub caps. The loss of that prime contractor (Chrysler), would have ripple effects on the people working at those vendor companies. Unemployment numbers in that range would severly damage our economy.
Also regarding the bailouts... ask people about their 401K savings/investment accounts. My 401K took a massive hit when the markets tanked (over $200K worth of value lost). It has since recovered to the 2006 levels, prior to the Bear Sterns and Lehmann brothers fiascos. So, the bailout of the financial markets has yielded positive results. The markets are still shakey, but certainly not as unstable as the global roller coaster of 700 point daily losses followed by 200 point increases the next day. as much as I despise those douchebags getting bailed out... we would be in a much, much worse situation today.
If you do not approve of or like bail outs, then you should support regulations. Because when we let Wall Street douchebags police themselves, you get shit like Ponzi schemes and default swaps.

But I do find it funny that a Fox News tries to connect Obama to these idiots... Always up for a good reach, I guess.

This is another laughable attempt by a Fox affiliate at journalism. "LOOK LOOK...I FOUND A COUPLE IRRESPONSIBLE ASSHOLES WHO I CAN LOOSLEY LINK TO A SPEECH THAT OUR SOCIALIST KENYAN PRESIDENT GAVE AT A PLANT HE HELPED BAIL OUT!...SEE, I TOLD YOU HE"S RUINING OUR COUNTRY!" Like there weren't irresposible workers at various different companies across the country before Obama took office. I bet no one who ever heard Bush speak smoked a joint or drank a beer afterwards. They probably all went home, said a prayer, and thought about a perfect world where there were no minorities or poor people. As dumb as these idiots appear to be I bet they still don't believe that Stuart Little is real and that somwhere scientists are successfully breeding humans and mice. This isn't even news. These clowns (along with the sorry ass "reporter" who did the story and the news director who decided to air it) should be fired...plain and simple. The fact that there are honest hard working people out there who can't find work yet these people have jobs is sickening.

What you say makes perfect sense and is true...
BUT... this is the 'Glenn Beck' method of linking unrelated facts and coming up with a conclusion that appeases its audience.
Fact: Chrysler recieved bailout funds in 2009.
Fact: President Obama spoke at this Chrysler plant in the past.
Fact: Workers at this plant are caught on videotape, drinking beer and smoking pot during their lunch break.
Conclusion: Tax dollars are paying Chrysler employees to drink beer and smoke pot.
    ...
Just read what some of the FOX choir say... in this forum. They use that exact same logic to come up with the same ridiculous conclusions that FOX News feeds them. When the choir believes everything coming from the pulpit is truth... for all intents and purposes, it IS truth to them. it is not the real truth, instead, a relative truth to confirm their preconceived beliefs. FOX News viewers cannot seem to dechipher belief from truth.

um...hourly workers usually clock out for lunch. Them going back to work drunk and stoned may be true, but it is another issue.

i agree they should suffer the consequences. absolutely.

what i disagree with is how their individual actions are apparently Obamas fault.

sometimes the dots just don't connect, no matter how many times you move them around.

There's a bunch of military people who are wasting a LOT more of your "tax dollars" by obviously violating that "no gays in the military" thing.

I don't know. (we still have that, right?)

Can you please take your phony indignation somewhere else?

If workers are showing up to work drunk/stoned/unable to work or a safety risk... they should be fired. And it has zero to do with the bail out.

If people are so pissed, why oppose raising the taxes on these Corporations? Why oppose closing the loopholes that give these and other such Corporations taxpayer subsidies? Why oppose trade laws that limited outsourcing? People keep wanting to point the finger at the President, but he is not the one outsourcing jobs. He’s not the one sitting up factories in China, Japan, Mexico and Brazil.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

Simple. Because it wasn't the Corporations that authorized spending the money that put the nation in debt.

if a corporation is going to profit from providing goods to americans and operate/be headquartered on american soil then they should pay their share of taxes on the income they generate. they should not be allowed to profit, profit, profit without paying their share of taxes.

It's still beside the point. Government did the spending. Corporations paid taxes by the standards the government set. The government knew how much revenue they were taking in and they knew how much they have been spending.

Government controls how much is spent.

Government controls how much is taken in.

    government = corporation ...

why do you think there are loopholes for corporations like haliburton from having to adhere to the clean water act? ... why do you think corporations routinely violate environmental regulations and laws? ... why do you think the US is in Iraq?
