I'm the same age as you acoustic guy, and....well, the only good thing that came out of the 80s were cult classic films, Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, Heathers, etc....maybe a few good songs but other than that, I will watch 'I love the 80s' and laugh because I didn't wear the embarrassing clothes or talk like a Valley Girl.

you could probably buy a used radio (boom box) with a cassette recorder in it from ebay to relive the good ol days walmart still sells blank tapes. i have an old stero from the 90's that still works and I record stuff off of the radio. It's great. I turn it on the classic rock station and record it. not sure why; I own a ton a music.
