So where is the Obama administration at on this? Barry himself said employers should be punished.

More jobs that Americans wont do? I think not.

    oh they took urr job?

if you got beat out from a job by someone who barely speaks english and needs to be trained in pantomime that says a lot more about your ability than the immigration system.
  • lol. typical fox news. the dumbing down of America continues. people are so quick to believe anything they read and take it out of context.

if anyone actually watched meet the press, what Powell actually said was that "american people want their borders to be protected. there's nothing wrong with that. there's nothing wrong with making sure that people come accross our borders in a legal safe manner. but at the same time, we have millions and millions of illegal immigrants in our Country. undocumented individuals who are working. who are doing things we need done in this Country. there all over my house doing things when i call for repairs, i'm sure you've seen them at your house. we've got to find a way to bring these people out of the darkness and give them some kind of status.

nowhere did he say HE personally hires illegal aliens. in fact, what he did say made a whole lot of sense. i guess fox doesn't want you to know that part though.

    exactly. i completely agree.

why did the fox story not link to the actual video? probably because they would have had to come up with a less sensationalized headline....or maybe even rewrite the entire story...

What's the point if there's no fear mongering? It's easier for them if the feed their followers a 1/4 of the story and make their political believes make up rest of the story, from such a eloquent remark made by Powell people can say "Colin Powell admits to hiring illegal aliens... and they took urr jooobs!"

but wouldn't you want your readers to be informed? any legitimate news source should strive to give the whole story, or at least more than one snippet of the story, otherwise their credibility deserves to be called into question....this just goes to show how fux news creates news instead of reporting it...

  • the Fox network itself was born out of controversy/sensationalism/gratuitous everything. They wanted to get noticed, and get noticed quickly. They did. Same goes for their news. They have no choice but to come up with BS so people will tune in, or at least talk about it, because let's be honest here, most of the people that watch Fox are only watching the news because they passed out at the end of Cops and woke up to get another beer when the news was on, and couldn't find the remote.

Their "news" is no different than Hard Copy of the 90's.

Of course i would want my readers to be informed... but that was when Walter Cronkite was around but what we could expect when what we have now is Glenn Beck now?

i know he made some great points, but the takeaway message from fox is "colin powell admits to hiring illegal aliens to do work at his house"...all this to fit an agenda and further muddy the waters. and people eat this misinformation up like ice cream...very sad indeed...

I do not understand where all the arrogance on this board. Just like the politicians, you people see yourselves as superior to everyone that does not agree with you. Your contempt or disregard for others is sickening. People that watch Fox News are no more ignorant than those that that watch any other news source…..You are not the only ones that know the media is biased…..

why is it arrogant to want truth from the media and not snippets only showing 1/3 of what obama was actually saying?

that is exactly as if i were to take your above comment and pare it down to "your contempt or disregard for others is sickening" leaving out the fact that you are comparing many of us on here to politicians, which none of us are...

I can still see that Fox news is a joke.

It seems like you only want to hear whatever reinforce your believes and not the truth, people and news may be biased but when they're caught lying plain and simple, is not arrogant to disagree is just calling things by their name in this case is Bullshit.

I'm with you on this, I am not American either and also vote on policy over party (although I must admit it wasn't always that way). I am amazed at the popularity of Fox news, it is very very scary. What I don't understand is why people accept it, I know there are dissenters, but certanly not in the numbers I would expect.

All I read on the FOX message boards is freedom this and freedom that. Well freedom is questioning, educating yourself on whats going on around you. There seems to be a distinct lack of real questioning going on, I mean look at some of these people getting the votes. Dissenters are being shouted down, on both sides of the spectrum.

When people allow corporations to do their thinking for them, freedom is lost.

  • People who want to prosecute individual people for immigration violations instead of going after the businesses who are the root cause of the problem are missing the point. It's the same as people who want to punish individual athletes for steroid use instead of going after the league owners and commissioners who are at the very least complicit.

steroids in baseball is something else entirely.

whoever decided we didn't need to see all those homeruns anymore was mistaken. not that i watch baseball, but i'd at least keep the highlights on when they showed up on espn.

    ...
People who get their information from one source, such as FOX News... then, believe they are validating it by listening to Rush Limbaugh and posting on Free Republic and believe what they hear is the truth... well, those people should be seen as inferior. Same as the people who get their information from MSNBC, validate it by watching Rachael Maddow and discussing it on MoveOn.org. They are opposite sides of the same dirty penny.
Try getting your information from the source, to eliminate the bias. If you can't do that... try listening objectively to several varied sources and come up with your own opinions, instead of the one shoved into your head so you can spew it out your mouth to someone else.
If you CLAIM to be independent... then, BE INDEPENDENT. In this case, look for the transcript and read it in context to avoid any sort of slant that broadcast entertainers wish to place on it.
