Matt hints that Pearl Jam is a roadblock in making new Soundgarden music even though they want to, so his priorities are still with Pearl Jam. Kind of shitty to fans in non major cities they're not touring.

I wouldnt be so quick to blame Pearl Jam, maybe Chris has a new line of Jeans coming out next year or Timberland wants to work on some new club banggers.

because they realize they were never that great of a live band

and cornell's voice cant hold up to a full tour

    smart choice

  • Don't know if you guys read this or not but check it out.
According to the article they did with SPIN it looks to me like Matt is the only one who doesn't
have a problem getting Soundgarden back rolling here.
The vibe that I get after reading this is that Chris,Kim,& Ben really couldn't give a shit.

  • I don't want Soundgarden to interfere with Pearl Jam, which is why I wanted them to be touring right NOW in fall 2010, especially since Pearl Jam had/have no fall touring plans. Then Pearl Jam could do their thing starting early 2011. Just a one month tour for the FANS. Not everybody can fly to Chicago and Seattle for shows.

Thats the way I thought it would go down...the way that makes sense. Doesnt surprise me, just watch a youtube clip of Chris talking about reunions in general and how they are driven by $$...that was only 2 or 3 years ago he made those comments

Glad I saw them at Lolla....Matt was in all his glory, and it was a great show
  • Hey Cornell's voice Is still awesome, frankly I was blown away at the show I seen a couple years back, I didn't expect him to pull off, It felt like my ears were bleeding thats no joke, matter of fact I had heard he sounds better now than when he was younger, because of all of the abuse he used to do to himself then.

PJ and Soundgarden should just tour together, pay Matt double his fee, Monsters of Grunge, kinda like when Billy Joel and Elton John toured together, and yes I just compared PJ and Sound to Billy and Elton, further yes I'm joking!
  • soundgarden split up , matt joined pearl jam so i guess pearl jam have to be his priority . saw soundgarden a couple of times in the early 90's and never really took to them that much , oh well

Well that sucks. It's ok sometimes that are favorite band (Pearl Jam) takes a break here & there. Would of thought that amount of time off we could of got some live Soundgarden show's; more then just the 3 show's. They got a box set that's coming soon. A single that's hitting the air waves & doing pretty well (yes, it was made/recorded year's back, but it's new to all of us). Mike's doing his solo work. Stone's doing his Brad thing. Jeff got back with Deranged Diction few day's back. See if more is on the way. Personally would love & faint for some more Three Fish jams. Ed's been doing his thing. Boom, he's probably surfing & smoking a huge fat one right now on a beach some where's. As for Matt, break that shit up man & play some more show's with Soundgarden. Do a mini USA/CDN tour. Believe me, every arena, festival, show would love to sign you guy's up. Just do it fast. Cause if Ed's back home writing up new material, Matt needs to retreat & head back to base with PJ.
  • what the FUCK.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I saw one of cornell's solos shows and it was great, much better than I thought it would be

but his voice wouldnt last if he was doing a full tour of soundgarden material
and, I guarantee they are holding out for $$$$$$$$$$

    Oh, really?

I can't even start to understand this
  • translation: we don't know what the demand for us actually is, and we don't want to be embarassed by having to cancel shows for lack of interest.

    or

we're not being offered enough money.
