How do you like the 2002 Wild Crash? I heard good things about it, but ended up going the Dark Energy route instead.

Its got a real nice heavy sound to it. Probably somewhere between there darker cymbals (sigs) and typical rock cymbals (2002's). It definitely cuts through more than the other 2 cymbals. The bell is also pretty good and has a dark sound sound. It doesnt sound too good for soft hits though, its really just for hard hitting.

edit: the wild series use the exact same metal as the new Alphas, only they're lathed and polished better.

Sweet. I think when I tapped on one of those Wild Crashes I didn't hit it too hard so all I was getting was a gong type sound. Sounds like "11" is the volume it needs to be played at. :)

Yea tapping on it isnt gonna give you an idea of the sound. They actually sound pretty bad for light hits. When you hit em hard they have a nice distinct "wild" sound.

    To anyone:
I made another drum video. This one is easily the best video I've done so far. Hardly any mess ups and I barely had to edit anything. The only thing that sucks is my hi hat work, but thats mainly because my hi hat pedal sticks real bad. The beginning and end is my take on "Head Down" by Soundgarden. Of course Matt plays it 1,000X better than I ever will, but I think its a good take on it. I also never realized how often I hit the cymbals too... I guess I should stop talking shit about Dave A

Oh and.... I didnt realize I was wearing boxers until I went to edit the video. So just ignore that part.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg3ojbkt4Bw

edit: oh to CJ... the wild crash is the one not shown in the video to the right of my main crash.

Hey sorry for such a late post. I do not own one but ive heard a lot of greats things about it! although it is very pricey if you can afford it and if its the sound you are looking for go for it!

My dad and I went to a drummers tag sale yesterday at his former teacher's studio and we bought a pair of metal sticks. HIGHLY recommend them for practice.

The whole stick is metal or just the tip?

The whole stick. Made out of aluminum. Use them to practice on a practice pad and they help build up hand speed. After about 10-15 minutes or however long you want to practice with the sticks, regular sticks will feel like twigs.

You wouldn't happen to be talking about the AHEAD sticks by any chance would you?

I'm not sure but my dad's former teacher makes the sticks.

Definitely. They help so much. I'm gonna start using them every day now. I've been practicing the rudiments with them.

Mainly 5B. I'll sometimes use 2B and 7A. Since I was little, I would use my dad's sticks from all the years he had been playing. But starting last year, I started using Vic Firth sticks.

I wouldn't use one of those pedals. I want to keep it natural and do more with my right foot.

The thing i like about them is its not a chain drive nor a strap drive, its a direct link so theres absolutely no lag what so ever
