Not really a thread for the Porch, but look at it this way:
If Axl didn't come back on stage at all, then MCD would've sued him for disappearing. They don't have to issue refunds now, and Axl gets his wrists slapped.0 -
as much as I admire Axl Rose for being a remarkable talent, and one of the greatest frontmen of our generation,
the man is a total and utter moron.
Its such a shame. No wonder Slash walked, Axl's treats the world like he's the sun and everything orbits around him....his ego is hideous0 -
Apparently he's been late to most of their shows on their current tour. I don't know why people buy tickets to his little circus. You deserve what you get when you go see him. I think his prima donna attitude would change a lot if he was forced to cancel all of his shows because of lack of ticket sales and it started hurting him in the pocketbook. And in no way do I condone the idiots who were throwing things on stage. Those people should have been kicked out.0

He's late to EVERY show
I don't get why.0 -

I guess it's just his shtick. However, it sounds like some of the venues are finally trying to do something about it by cutting off his mics or threatening him with lawsuits.0 -
I'd rather a band be on prompt and finish dead on the curfew, than fuck about and keep the fans waiting.
Yeah, it would be great for an early/on-time start AND late ending, but Axl's just taking the piss here. What possible reason could there be for him waiting an hour past the allocated start time before begining his set? His white cycling shorts were put in the wash with his lucky red hat? No one removed all the green M&Ms from the tour rider?

i read that at reading and leeds he was sleeping and his entourage had been told never to wake him when sleeping...
saw them here in moscow, more upsetting than the late start was the rather formulaic show and a tubby axl. i think i know where all the pies have gone. i thought the show would be ok and, if you closed your eyes, it was in parts but it is very odd when only axl is left and the new members are doing solo's and all but really, they are not personalities and i had no connection to them (talented thought they were). really felt like a session band.
bumblefoot is cool tho'...
and the t-shirts were poor.
i think the late thing is to build anticipation - and in moscow there was a nutty reaction when they finally came on. but moscow goes nuts for anything. not sure there is much to anticipate in the show when it arrives though. shame.14.10.2000 Houston, 09.09.2006 Marseilles, 11.09.2006 Paris, 18.06.2007 London, 17.08.2009 Manchester, 18.08.2009 London, 22.06.2010 Dublin, 23.06.2010 Belfast, 25.06.2010 London0
