no, like Unlost, my parents were not that creative...

If I'd been a boy my parents were going to name me Michael.

My parents, and indeed most of my family, are stunningly unoriginal when it comes to selecting names for their children.

I don't know what I would have been if I was a boy, but mum had her heart set on Erin, but a friend beat her to it. So when I was born she told my dad to choose a name that no-one in the family had. He chose Frances.....it is his sisters middle name and also the first name of one his aunts who died quite young....needless to say my mother was not impressed when she found out.

well then i hope youre mum has learnt her lesson... never delegate the naming of your child to the dad. at least not without the power of veto.. also helps if shes the one to fill out the paperwork.

im named for my paternal great grandmother. family lore says my sisters were named after characters in on the beach. and my brother was named after his paternal grandfather. if he was a girl he was gonna be called charlotte.. im so glad he was a boy... i like william so much better.
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say

There is someone I know who is going to name thier boy Kelly.
I know kids with unusual names like Novak, Kaid, Cruze, Reeve,Winter, Rocka,
and I don't even live in a hippy commune.

I called my first son Bob, we named him after absolutely NO-ONE we know.
( and then came Bob The Builder :| )

Kelly can be a boy's name...or at least it used to be. I think it was more common in Ireland but I am not sure. Those are some unusual names.
