um excuse me but you don't know if I have or not . For your information I have been reading it. It's 2,074 pages. It's not exactly something you can read in a short period of time.
Exactly. That's how I know you didn't read it. So I don't think you have any room to criticize anyone else who hasn't read it.
I have every right to criticize a politician who are SUPPOSE OR SHOULD READ IT before voting on a bill. So does every other American. Would you just vote yes or no without reading it ? Would you sign a loan agreement without reading it.
if this healthcare bill is so freakin great which they claim, than why are all the politicians exempt from it ?0 -

I think the yelly lady is being selfish...all she is talking about her herself...well lady, quit your whining and sell everything...
Maybe you forgot or you just dense, but the ELECTED OFFICIALS WORK FOR US. when you start messing with well being or health of peoples children people have every right to be upset..
Exactly. That's why we elected a president who would pass healthcare reform. I'm glad you understand.
you call this reform ??? :lolno:
then you definitly haven't read any of it..0 -

uhhh ... the fact you don't know why is probably why you continue to ride the partisan train ... set yourself free man - your worshipping of the conservative right has numbed you to the rest of the world!0 -

There are all kinds of great reasons why liberal women dislike Sarah Palin. I'll tell you all about them if you want to start another thread about it.prfctlefts wrote:Maybe it's because conservative women are better looking. :?

It isn't just liberal women who hate Sarah Palin (I'm a guy, btw) - it's intelligent PEOPLE. She's dumber than a box of rocks, doesn't understand the first thing about the Constitution, seems far more interested in promoting herself than doing any real work (how else do you explain quitting halfway through her first term as governor to go on a book tour and film a reality show with the John and Kate woman), and is generally a walking disaster.
Yet somehow there's a faction of the conservative movement who think she walks on water. How out-of-touch with reality do you have to be to think she is in any way qualified to lead a nation?
As for the "conservatives are better looking" argument - beside the fact that that is completely irrelevant when it comes to determining who is and isn't a better potential leader, it's also functionally retarded. I have seen the email that gets sent around about that, and if you honestly think Ann Coulter and Laura Bush are more attractive than Olivia Wilde, then you are insane
That being said, the fact that 90% of the women Fox hires are all thin bottle blonds pretty much shows you where their priorities lie. Attractiveness > intelligence.
(And, for what it's worth, my wife is a registered Republican who swears she will switch sides and become a Democrat if the right elects Palin to run for president.)Post edited by cajunkiwi onAnd I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.0 -

sorry man I thought you were a chick
as Obama would say "Let me be clear " Im not a real big fan of her either.
as far as her quiting through her term didn't it have to do something with all those ethics violations she was being charged with. Im not condoning what she did,but maybe it was best for the state of Alaska and it's citizens. You do have to take into consideration that she was a govenor and she had something like a 60% approval rating.. Just sayin
as far as the better looking comment goes I was just being stupid. With that being said most Of the women on Fox If Im not mistaken happen to be attorneys. So it's not just looks.
and no I have never seen Olivia Wilde..0 -

Gimmie Im not sticking up for the repubeicans by any means. I wish there was a law that said they had to read all bills before voting on it. Most of them need to get thier asses voted out also. I don't think any R's voted for it but I could be wrong.0 -

You've never seen Olivia Wilde? Dude... at the risk of derailing this thread, Google her or watch an episode of House.
But back to the topic at hand - you can add those ethics violations to the list of reasons people don't like her. Approval ratings don't last forever either - Bush had an astronomical rating immediately after 9/11, and he ended statistically the most unpopular president in U.S. history (based on approval ratings). Obama's rating seems to be falling daily, though it's still higher than the rating of any of the potential Republican candidates, whose own ratings are also falling steadily. And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.0 -

Right, but they're equally as responsible for reading something they vote against as they would be had they voted for it.0 -

true, true...
We had a problem here in Louisiana a few months ago where a bill was passed by the lawmakers, and neither side read it first - they essentially voted yay/nay based on the title of the bill. Then, after it was passed, one of them read it and objected to it, so they went back and reversed the vote. If you're not reading what you're voting on, then you shouldn't be allowed to vote. And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.0 -

Welcome to the United States. All you need is a catchphrase. :( I just read this story on NPR, which I think is related: http://www.npr.org/blogs/watchingwashin ... 129319446/0 -
