no, don't do that. I'm sure it will be fine. Open it up, unroll it, and check it out. It might just need to be flattened out.

  • I just took out some posters that have been in their tubes for about a year - still look fine. No creases. But will look into that "science fair board" and acid free paper tomorrow.

As long as the poster is not tightly rolled, it should be fine. I had some old 10Club posters that I left in tubes and forgot about. When I discovered them and unrolled them, they were fine.

  • I'll keep my fingers crossed. I had a dream I pulled the poster out and all of the cardinal red ink was soaking through the poster to the other layers rolled up due to the humidity.

I'm not even going to look until I can afford to get it framed...

They'll be fine. These posters are not nearly as fragile as some would have you think. I have posters that have been rolled for 6 or 7 years and they are fine. Once matted and framed you won't even be able to tell they were once stored in a tube.

I'm guilty of this...I put a few of them between some acid free cardboard and loaded them with tons of books for weight. About 2 weeks went by and I thought I would check on them...all of them wanted to roll back up. Not as tight as in the tube but yeah.

    Any better/faster ways?

Are you going to frame them one day? If so, they'll stay flat when they are matted and framed. You won't even be able to tell they were ever rolled.
