Love the wolves, nothing more beautiful than a wolf and the moon and a howl :D

    Child Moon by Carl Sandburg

    The child's wonder
    At the old moon
    Comes back nightly.
    She points her finger
To the far silent yellow thing
    Shining through the branches
Filtering on the leaves a golden sand,
Crying with her little tongue, "See the moon!"
And in her bed fading to sleep
With babblings of the moon on her little mouth.

We had a tip top deck in my childhood home. Many a night we would lie on our chaise lounges gazing at the night sky, the big dipper overhead, the milky way, the rising moon. As a child I remember wondering if we were kept in a jar, the world, the earth, the stars, the moon. Kept in a jar for another's wonderment.

One of my favorite books as a child was a book called "Goodnight Moon".

Is that relevant in this thread?

lovely pic, thanks! wouldn't you just love to be on that boat?
moonlight casted on your person is a beautiful feeling
can be eery but also the moonlight can be like love rays,
that old saying, I have it on a plank on our deck.....
"Live by the sun, Love by the moon" thats just what the moon is for :D
  • yes, that is a nice sayin : )

anytime I find the moon shinin outside my window, I shut out the lights and hit the other world of the moon... I could live like that : )
  • and yes the boat really brings it to life... I've got a painting of the sea under thunderous skies on my "nameless" wall, and although there is no figure in it, there is a shape of one, which I believe is me, swimmin out, leavin everythin and everyone behind and headed to another world... and it's not a negative thought... it's just a thought : )

long time back, my ex girlfriend had drawn a picture of hills and lil colourful houses from a bird's view, and after it was up on my wall, with her persmission of course, I drew two lil black figures, almost just dots, out in the distance... that did a lot for me ... I need help : )

Nothing like warm summer nights and a full moon. I just go for evening walks and enjoy the beautiful sky...

I just moved here to the Palm Beaches FL and we live out west in an equestrian community next to the everglades and our moonlit nights are spectacular. I can go for a midnight moonlight ride as it's sooo bright it's like the sun with sunglasses on. 8-) No need for a flashlight even though I still carry one just to spot the many various animals out here. Out here I've now seen 2 shooting stars in that we don't have much street lights or light so the the stars shine so bright.
