Thanks ed for running this, I know its a lot of work.

Was fun, hopefully next year we can do it again and get a little more interest.

Now lets all concentrate on slapping the bookies around for the playoffs.

I think phardin was 4-2, and only fell one win shy of me overall.

    An idea!

Would anyone be interested in doing a March Madness bracket? The stakes could be our entry fee into next year's degenrate gambling football league. So if all 7 of us do this, the winner wouldn't have to pay next year and the rest of us would have to put up an extra $4 a piece to cover the winners entry. Thoughts?

    but
what if the entry goes up?
    and
what if there is only ncaa football on sundays?

    Good points.

I think we can agree that the entry fee for next year won't go down. So the same principal would apply, the winner would just knock $25 off whatever the entry fee would be.

If theres no NFL, we would just pick college games. right?

    maybe someone else wants in
    who wasn't in original 7

maybe we get more to start nfl (or ncaa) season
    and entry goes up

maybe if all original 7 want to do this
we should do 5 a man

    games start thurs?

    don't have much time

    lets see what happens

Or we can just do $25 a person or whatever and keep it independent of the football league.

I think it would be cool to pick a few games vs the spread for each round (post the games with lines for each round...then we each have to pick a handful of games). IMO that would be more enjoyable than filling out another bracket pool.

    just my 2 cents

I like this too. I'm filling out my third bracket right now and am realizing I don't really want to do another one.

Heres an idea, on Thursday and Friday there are 16 games each day, we'd each have to to pick 8 games each day. Saturday and Sunday there are 8 games each day, so we'd have to pick 4 and so on. You'd have to pick both games in the final four and then obviously the NC.

yeah, the bracket pools are mostly luck. they cause more frustration than enjoyment. I'm getting in one for work and that's it. I care more about bragging rights than money for that pool. I'd prefer to just bet on the games...mainly because I'm a degenerate.

I was thinking the same thing about the number of games we pick. I'd recommend adding a half point to each line so that there's no pushes (I think we should do this with football too next year)
