Personally, I'd choose Soundgarden because of the reason that you have supplied.
Your chances of seeing Arcade Fire again (even in a festival setting) are a lot better than Soundgarden.
Just my two cents.

If I had to choose only one it would be AF. But I think the correct answer in this case is Soundgarden.
AF will be back, Soundgarden, who knows.
That's what I'm saying. Granted, i don't know a lot of AF but have been definitely getting into them a lot lately, I think I'd still capitalize on what could potentially be my last chance to see Soundgarden.

I would say Soundgarden. Although I just saw Arcade Fire a few nights ago and were blown away by them.

SG...i'm digging arcade fire's new tracks but not enough to get me to miss soundgarden. i'm sure arcade fire will be touring a lot once the album is out and will probably hit up a place close to you..i don't know about soundgarden.
Arcade Fire are a band in their prime...arguably the best band of my generation. Soundgarden were a great band who are quite frankly past their prime. None of them besides Matt have been relevant in a long time and that is the main reason for this reunion...and if you disagree with this last statement listen to 'Scream'.
I'd probably see Soundgarden, as I've already seen Arcade Fire several times (first time was a really tiny show, just before they became huge).
Played Funeral in the car this morning too.

Whoever scheduled them to play simultaneously should seriously be shot. I mean really. Who does that? Was there another top-tier band playing at the same time as Pearl Jam a few years ago? (I really don't know, I'm just curious if this always happens.) They should both be on the biggest stage back-to-back to close it out.
I am struggling with this as well. Originally I was gonna go with SG, but Arcade Fire's new album is awesome. Plus my friends want to see AF. So it looks like it will AF.
"hear my name, take a good look, this could be the day."
i for one would rather see arcade fire in a more intimate setting
but i can see how it might cause some conflict... SG put on a hell of a show last night, but I'm sure the annoying mosh pitting / crowd surfing will only be worse at lolla
Ask yourself if you never had another chance to see SG and this was your 1 shot, would you regret it later? If the answer is yes then I think you should see SG. Personally I wouldn't pass it up.
This is a great time to see this band. They are really exploding...whoever commented that they are in their prime is dead on. This is the best time to see Arcade Fire if you enjoy their music. The best time to see Soundgarden was years ago.

Lolla always has headliners play at the same time on separate stages. GS & AF really have nothing much in common, so it doesn't seem like a huge conflict.
I cannot decide who to see at Lolla Sunday...My gut tells me AF will be back.....what would you do?
is this some kind of sick joke?
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.
Arcade Fire is arguably the best band in the world right now, in their prime. I saw them last month and they were AMAZING.
Soundgarden will be more about nostalgia. What would you prefer?
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

but I've seen Arcade Fire 3 times
considering Soundgarden is doing Lolla & playing at the Vic, you'll be traveling out of state if you want to see them again.

Did anyone see their webcasted show from MSG last night?

I don't get it? What's the joke?
these festivals are more about having fun and finding something new instead of listening to angry tunes and living in the past
