    again - this is how he is supporting his base ... apparently if you do your job too good - you will most likely get fired ... anyhoo - the conservative base is strong ...

    from all reports, the conservatives are losing track in the polls. virtual tie with the liberals. Canada in my opinion is still a left center country and Harper is thinking that its a right-center country.

    canada i would say is a centrist country ... there are a few places that lean slightly left of centre and they happen to be in urban pockets but in general i would say centrist ...

    the problem is that we have one right wing party and they will always garner their 30% ... back in the day of the progressive conservative party - they could muster mass majorities because they were slightly centre-right ... but these former reform/mike harris guys definitely swing hard right ...

    but with the liberals in shambles - they can be in power for some time ... plus the inevitable vote-splitting ... hence our need for proportional representation ...
