I've always loved Sonic Youth's version of Superstar. It is so haunting in a way The Carpenters sugar-sweet pop could never be.

styles ranged quite a bit. We played everything from Classic Rock to PJ to cheezy 80s music. I guess you could consider us at the time hard rock in the way we covered some songs. We even brought out some nice ballads as well. Whatever we felt like playing really. Oh we stayed away from metal for the most part as my voice couldn't handle it or I couldn't get high enough for some stuff.

    "Turn the Page"
That is indeed a great cover and as much as I love the 'tallica boys I have a hard time saying their's is better than Bob's. But it's something to consider.
I remember thinking they were nuts when I heard they were doing that song, but I was pleasantly surprised at their treatment of it when I actually heard it.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I can't believe that it took 3 pages for someone to say 'Hallelujah'. This is the definitive example of a cover being better than the original in my mind.

    As for Hurt...I think Reznor > Cash...and I don't even think it's that close.

Mike Ness - "Don't Think Twice" (Dylan)
Going to have to throw a flag on this one. That song has been untouchable by everyone but Dylan

However Mike Ness's honky tonk version of Ball and Chain beats out social D's anyday
